I am aching to know more about American culture and history. Should I take an american history course (HIST213) or an american literature course (ENGL206)? Which can provide me with more balanced knowledge and....a easier grade?
It says it right in the name. American Literature. It's just old books published by Americans back in the day. So unless you find that interesting, it won't teach you shit about American history.
Also in the name is ENGL meaning it's 100% essays A.K.A. subjective marking from useless English graduate students and from the sounds of it, you're not an English or History major.
If you want to learn about American History, I suggest you just look at some articles on Wikipedia or pick up a American History book cause unless it's to fulfill a WQB or some requirement, I don't suggest you take a History course because it will rape you much worse than English will.
I suggest CMPT 165 if you want a GPA Booster. Very recommended.

history 213 is pretty easy in my opinion, then again i'm a history major so that might have a part in it.

I find your use of that word to be quite inappropriate. I'm not a mod, but rest assured I'll be talking to one shortly.
