Procrastinating on Finals
How's the studying for the finals going? I'm procrastinating like crazy. I hate them. You would think the course being 'over' would be a good thing because it gives you more time to actually study without interruptions like assignments due. But I actually get more studying done during midterm time.. at that point I'm still motivated. By the time finals roll around I've already had two colds and lost most motivation and discipline.

As for the rest of you: take some downtime when you do study, 'cuz studying like hell all the time is no fun. :)
I'm taking Math 154 in the Spring - calculus for biological sci. Dreading it. I passed Math 100 with a B but then didn't take any math for the next two semesters (stupid stupid). In fact my spring semester is going to be brutal. Math 154, Phys 101, Psych 201 and Kin 207.
Pretty sure if either
1) it weren't at 8:30am in Burnaby
or 2) i had any kind of study skills whatsoever
it wouldn't be that hard.
@EricJ and the other calculus folks:
What helps immensely is if you can get your mitts on some old final exams. Ask around and see if anyone in the Math student union maintains an exam bank and if so, dive in.
My favorite words in integral calculus have always been: "Set up but do not evaluate the integral."
That was always good for a few free marks because writing the integral is dead easy, it's calculating it that's hard. :p
EDIT: I punched a few search terms into Google and got these pages:
http://math.kennesaw.edu/~sellerme/sfehtml/classes/math1190/math1190.html
http://math.kennesaw.edu/~sellerme/sfehtml/classes/math2202/math2202.html
That should help you get a feel for the kinds of exams calc profs like to give.
