Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize
What do you guys think about it?
A lot of debate on whether or not he deserves it or not.
Heres pretty much the 3 point of views I've seen going around:
1-No way in hell he deserves it. Not even a full year into his term, escalated/continued 2 wars, and didn't close Guantanamo.
2- He did deserve it because he's bringing the international community together.
3- Peace prize means nothing after Arafat won it.

People spend there entire lives doing research and making amazing discoveries.. they are the ones who deserves it.. NOT someone who's just doing what they are suppose to be doing. aka his job!
Lester B. Pearson had to save the world from nuclear annihilation and create the concept of UN peacekeeping.
Gandhi didn't even get the damned thing.
So tell me what the fuck Obama did to get this thing? Seriously! I want to know why Obama deserved this more than Gandhi. The Nobel Peace Prize is a sham. It's been one for a long time.
Just look at all the past nobel prize recipients, like other members said, they spent years and years of research and dedication of their time and actually got some noted results which benefited/improve the ways of living.
I laughed when CBS interviews white house members asking if they knew about obama's nobel nomination, and like half were like "for what?"
Like for instance, http://www.chinadaily.net/hkedition/2009-10/09/content_8768287.htm <- these kind of people deserves the prize 10000x more than obama right now.
i hate obama so fuck him lol. no way he should get that nobel prize.
I agree that Obama doesn't deserve it but him refusing it would never happen. It would have ben offensive on ll kinds of levels to refuse it.
I have to admit, he took it in stride. He even said he didn't deserve it, but regarded it as a reminder to what influence he has on the international community.
So if you guys want to blame anyone, blame Obama's Modesty...
As for what he did, I don't have any proof...just rumours but...apparently some country in the East (don't want to call out specific names) secretly built some kind of super weapon...*cough...Mech..cough* but it was leaked to Obama and somehow, he managed to stop them before they initated another World War...
If that doesn't deserve winning the Nobel Peace Prize...I have no idea what does...
Also, I was apart of this huge operation to stop this new super weapon to. I am a naturally modest person so I didn't think to tell anyone.
Either you're the most gullible person in the world, or you were being sarcastic, which I doubt you were.
Think about it though...he MUST have done something great in order to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize...in the past, many of the people who were awarded this prize did great things for this world and I believe this is the same with Obama. He must have done something quite important that deserves recognition...just that it's not known to the public...either he's really modest or...what he did was something that would destroy his public image.
My belief is that he prevented the outbreak of war through massacring the population of the enemies in the East. With this, he showed them that he was serious and created a sense of terror amidst them. With this, he prevented a serious tragedy like WWII from happening and maintained peace. Even atrocities can be seen as peace making...the Committee understands that...but the public for sure wouldn't. Of course, this is all my speculation...
