Anyone here been a science (BISC) TA?
I'm interested in applying to become a TA for a BISC course in the Spring semester. Anyone here been a science TA before? What's the time commitment like? And how's the pay? :)

Undergraduates are at the bottom of the priority list for TAs. That said, there have been times when quite a few undergrads have become TAs for various reasons. :)
In chemistry the base pay is something like $4500 a semester plus extra for graduate students. I imagine it's similar in BISC. So if you're an undergrad (which I assume you are) then you will just get whatever the base rate is. Expect to be present for two labs each week (which is 4 hours solid per lab) plus office hour (one per week) and marking said labs. All in all expect to put in about 10-12 hours per week; this fluctuates over the semester so it is an average figure only.
Good luck. :)
I am an undergrad, but I'll apply anyways and see how it goes :)
