Hey, I just finished doing a bit of cleanup of the forums..can't believe you already noticed haha
Debates wasn't a very active section, so I moved all the threads into the General Lounge and got rid of it. I also merged the Business & Innovation section with the Internet & Technology section, and changed the name to Business & Technology.
If you guys have any other changes that you think need to be made around the site, let me know! Now if only I could figure out how to merge vBulletin with Wordpress...
I definitely agree...keeping discussions flowing is the main goal, and having too many sections just clutters things up.
The new generation of forum software that are coming out don't even have separate categories for discussions at all. Instead, all discussions are displayed on one page and are differentiated by "tags." This means that one discussion can have multiple tags and therefore be dynamically sorted according to what the user is looking for.
