What would be a good valid reason to approve taking a course at other institute ?

    Scheduling? Cheaper tuition? Availability of classes? Night classes?

    I think all those don't qualify. There is a criteria that specifically specifies the above mentioned ideas and others as criteria that doesnt qualify.

    Your best bet is to ask someone who has successfully done this before.

    As for ideas... hmmm...

    I imagine disability might qualify you, if you are recently disabled and SFU is now too inconvienient to get to while you try and rehabilitate. This could be the case if you started your degree without disablility and then recently got into an accident, or something like that.

    Depends on the person approving your letter of permission. I've taken 4-5 courses at Douglas college so far with permission and most of the "excuse" i provided were pretty lame. I said things like the classes offered at SFU conflicted with my workschedule or its not offered at SFU this semester. It really depends on the person approving it, some are really picky some don't care. I just got permission to take 2 psych courses at dougie next semester.
