ENG 105 was the easiest I've taken. Read a few books, talk about them, kapeesh!

Yea I agree with that. Engl 105 was just a piece of cake.

Who did you take it with?

I heard Paul Budra is an amazing prof for ENG 105. My friend took that in Fall 07 and they got to read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Valley of the Dolls!

    That was my semester!
He's a great prof...very funny. I would recommend finding a course with him!

    @Makall

You say macm 201, for you, was the hardest course you took to date. I may be getting transfer credit for macm 101, however, i took it 6 years ago.

In your infinite wisdom, would you advise taking macm 101 again? just for review.

I wouldn't. However you'll need to use your skills with permutations, combinations, probability (?) and all that.

Haven't taken that many classes at SFU yet but so far:

    Hardest: History 225
    Easiest: History 106

    Easiest: Physics 101
Hardest: English 105W (though it probably depends on the prof, as I found 101W easy)

Can I get some info as to why History 225 is the hardest and who the prof. was?

I plan on taking it in the spring.

20th cent. european hist, as with most history courses it is highly dependent on who you get as your professor and TA.

I took it with Vinkovetsky last summer and he was really easy. I had some friends who took it with Stubbs a few years ago and they all got raped, but he retired last year. If your lucky, you'll get Vinkovetsky, I heard he might be doing it this coming spring.

I had it last spring with Greg Dochuk, the course itself was really interesting but the prof expected way too much from the essays. The TAs didn't really give any clear direction on what the assignments should be like so we were all pretty lost. I was glad just to pass by the end of it :|

Who did you have for 105?
I had Budra...I thought it was the easiest course in the world. Whereas I would probably find physics a crapshoot.

I had Stephen Ogden. I did fine in English 101W (with Kim Larsen), and I expected 105W to be similar, but wasn't (likely due to the prof). The Final exam relied so much on memorization of lectures, which I really didn't expect.

Not so sure. It's changed a bit since I took it back in 2005ish. At the time that component was optional/extra credit. There were online assignments to complete, as well as the usual gamut of exams.

As I understand it though, it's telescopic observations and things like that.
