What do you drive?
I'm in the market for a new car and want to get a something on the beefier/sport side of things. Just wondering what all of you drive for leisure, to work, or to school..I'm considering the Pontiac G8, which is probably isnt going to happen as GM dealers are WAY overcharging due to the scarcity of the car. I've actually started looking at some classic cars that can possibly be restored. Of course i don't no jackshit about cars so it'll be a catastrophic failure, but i think i might give it a try. :P
I take transit to school most of the time, but i enjoy driving up there once in a while when there's no traffic. I also drive to work 3-4 days a week so its getting annoying filling up w/ 80 bucks every week.
So for now, I'm in a ford suv and pickup, until I get a new/used car... :D

by the end of the year will have, 4runner with after market modifications:
Jaos Bull Bar/Grille Guard
2-3 inch suspension lift
remove factory side step and replace with poly performance rock sliders.
Thule roof basket with air dam
2 PiAA off roading lights mounted on bull guard
new bfg AT tires
rear light guards
rhino hitch step
replace factory plastic skid plates with performance steel once from either Jaos or Aries
possible future mods:
black out rims
arb air lockers for front and rear diffs (maybe)
and a shrockworks winch bumper
and a 3000 series winch from aries
the rubicon is nice in that it comes with factory e-lockers for front and rear. also has good clearance and approach angles. the interior turned me off though. i wont be offroading every day. also i want an suv with fold flat rear seats so i can throw an air mattress in the back to sleep in.
the fj cruiser off road package was another consideration as it came more off road capable than the 4runner. however, one its kinda ugly and two the rear seats dont fold flat, there is a bump.
also considering a tacoma with off-road package but it only comes in access cab which isnt practical for driving lots of peeps around.
4 runner has the capailities i'm looking for and readily available aftermarket parts at reasonable prices.
mercedes G is really expensive and runs on diesel (not too sure) which isnt really common around the lower mainland. easier to find diesel pumps out side of lower mainland. and the hummer h1 is really expensive and too large for off-roading.
I hate those things.
as for me i roll in a mildly moded mazda3. i dont think anything competes with the mazda3s in that class, and i tested all its competitors (mind u i think the new mazda3s are ugly as shit)
i personally like all cars and if i were to buy somethin now id get something with off road abilities

What I actually drive:
I'm probably one of the few guys that knows very little about cars as a whole. I just care that the car is efficient, well-built and able to get me from Point A to Point B without breaking down.
well, this is what i'd like to have, i'm halfway there in attaining a license
but back to reality... this is after i lost my first car (integra)
in terms of buying a new car, what's your budget?
WE CALL IT A BANG BUS.
Really, at the moment the two back row seats are taken out--I'm looking for people brave enough to drive it around while I roll around in the back with a desk chair (with wheels and spin action).
ANY TAKERS?
my first car was an 1989 pontiac grand am
after that i wanted to get an s14 but couldn't find any with a stick, let alone in good condition
right now in europe i roll in an opel astra cdti
i wish we had more diesel cars in canada
sure its only a 1.7L, sure even wit the tiny turbo its power band is only between 2k-3k rpm. but hey im just under 1/2 tank of gas and @ 700km already :P
ultimately, if i don't lose this car-modding bug, i'd like to do a 240sx as well, either the s13 fastback or get a s14 and do a s15 front end conversion which would be quite ultimate for me. however, like you said, most of them are ragged on already and are in bad condition, or pay for a good condition one with your soul lol.
the gay thing is when u try and merge into traffic its got low power so it takes awhile to accelerate. their not fast cars until they get a move on, but they make up for it with awesome gas economy
as for the s14, i think its fornt end is nice enough going to the s15 conversion would be nice but a bit overkill imo. also from my understanding the s14 front end was exclusive to the NA market tho i could be wrong.
BUT, I heard that BMW and VW are going to be releasing their new Diesel engines for the 2010 models which are cleaner and quieter than the engines we've had in NA uptill now.
I think at this point it would be awesome to have a Diesel car in North America...even though we're still relying on Gas at least the power is still there!
...in white.
I've got the gear, the class 6, now i just need to save up the moneys for a.......
R6!
i picked bright orange because if i'm on a bike, i definitely want to be noticed especially since it's so easy to get killed on it lol
Are you mad that im stunnin' on ya? ;)
