Who ARE you?..

edited December 2006 in General
....Spending Christmas with? Or are you spending it alone?

I spent xmas alone ONCE and I hated every second of it. I missed my family so much that I refused to answer their calls when they tried to wish me a merry christmas, because I knew I would break down in tears. LOL.

I'm spending Christmas with my family and I'm SO excited!!! I usually go up Island to spend xmas with some of them, but this year ALL of them are coming to Van. We'll be somewhat spread out all over the place, since there's a ton of us, but we're having a huge Christmas dinner and so far there's 90 of us attending.

But what I'm mostly excited about is, seeing my grandmother and gramps (he's not my real grandfather, so i call him gramps, but I luv him just the same. ) My gran and gramps are getting really old and I'm very, very suprised that they're making it all the way here, considering their health.

EVERYONE WILL BE HERE TOMORROW! I'M SO EXCITED I CAN PUKE! :teeth: lol

So....who will you be with on Christmas?

You sound excited. I can't even think of 90 people I know let alone 90 family members. Have fun

Saturday night is a huge celebration with friends and family for my husband's side, and then Christmas eve and Christmas day we're heading out to spend time with my family.

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I'm so looking forward to those magical four days off work!

I've got Xmas Eve with my boyfriend, my mom and her bf, my brother and his gf, and my aunt, uncle, cousin, and oma (grandma). It's usually a pretty good time! My aunt makes some delicious appetizers and we play some games and chat. Then we're staying over at my mom's and spending Xmas day with her. She's making dinner for just 4 of us cuz everyone else has other plans!

We don't really have any little kids in the family anymore (my cousin is 11), so it's not as fun as it could be.

This might be the worst christmas for me. I just got surgery done and I can't eat anything. I'm basically drinking soup whenever I can. My mouth is all swollen and I'm taking 3 types of medication 3 times a day.

Do you have anyone to take care of you?

I got my receding gumline replaced. Basically, I brushed my teeth way too hard for years therefore I killed my gumline. The good part is I never had any cavities in my life before. They had too take some tissue off my upper jaw to replace my gumline so that's why I'm swollen. And the surgery is still not done yet so I'm prepared to suffer some more.

I'm also leaking blood from my gumline and I can feel the stiches in my mouth so it's actually kinda gross :(.

I'm still surviving though. Just gotta remember to take my medication and eat things that don't require much chewing. Yeah, and I also volunteered to pick up my friends from the airport tonight so I can still do things even though I can't do things that are physically demanding (ie lift weights) as it'll cause me to bleed some more.

    Bad Christmas for me :(.

Oh my! That sounds awful.

Dental surgery is a real pain. It makes you so aware of how often you use your mouth! And I know what you mean about the stitches and bleeding. I had my wisdom teeth out and it left four huge gaping holes which would collect food. It was pretty gross to clean them out! Hopefully you can find some tasty food to eat. Smoothies are great, and I like tomato soup. Maybe your friends will puree some turkey?

How long until you are better? Before spring semester, I hope!

I need mutiple surgeries. Only 1/4th of my mouth is done. The next surgery will be on Jan 6th so it will most likely be over before the middle of the Spring semester.

Yikes... Hopefully this is the last dental surgery you'll need! And I wish you a speedy recovery.
