Hey, I'm thinking of taking these courses in the fall, any feedback regarding how hard it'll be or how much work it'll require??
SA 100W
SA 101
SA 150
CRIM 135
(maybe CRIM 103...is five too much?)
With the first four courses, I'll only have to take two finals.
Thanks.

Anyway, what she said has an element of truth, I think first year arts classes largely are just testing your work ethic, rather than the difficulty of the material. I think you could take five classes, and if you can't you might want to re-evaluate how you spend your time and your work ethic.
Five courses are absolutely manageable if you have good study habits and keep up with the readings but if you are transitioning from highschool, the change in environment and pace may be a bit overwhelming. I took on four courses in my very first semester coming straight from highschool and I'm glad I only took four since my work ethic was crap and I did shit all. Up to you though and what you think you can handle.
I'm planning on taking that now but any info on it would be nice. ;)
In high school I dicked around a lot and found the transition quite difficult at first but then after that you get accustomed to how you manage your time, study, etc.
If you were a dedicated student in high school, spending lots of time studying (though I dont know why you would, its HS after all) and hardly went out, 5 courses should be fine. Also if you factor in the fact that you only have 2/4 finals so far, at most you would be having 3/5 finals, and that is not bad at all
When I took it in Fall 07, there were two midterms and a final project. I ended up with a B in that course since I failed my second midterm... haha. But she is an excellent prof, definitely one of my favourites by far.
