I work my butt off for all the things I buy, and I save up quite a lot. I've saved almost everything I've earned from co-op, I work part-time when I'm full-time at school, and I have a budget.
If you don't mind me asking, and this is not an instigation, but do you pay for your tuition, books, groceries or rent?
I am just trying to figure out what's wrong with my budget.
Anyway, just because I buy designer things, it does not mean I spend all my monies as well as retail price to get it; my money definitely does not flow from the heavens. I'm a smart shopper. Also, wearing designer does not mean I don't have my own style, xxk1nky.
What I'm saying is that yes, I do wear brand names quite a bit but what I do is that I mix designer labels with vintage pieces and accessories. Almost all the clothes I have are branded and often, I borrow stuff from my mom's closet to jazz things up a bit. Personally, I don't like flashing logos around because I like being asked "Oh, where did you get that from?" and it's just not my style... unless it's Juicy.
I'm not attacking you; I still wear my Sevens and Rocks and shop at Aritzia occasionally. I just don't shop/wear them that often because my style has changed from back then and again, I hate having/wearing the same thing as every other girl.

Yes, Yes and no :) Denim and leather and my main vices, lol. I really don't spend anything on dresses / fancy tops / shoes. Oh, I forgot to add. I buy and sell a shit load.
And xxk1nky, Juicy is the flashiest of flashy ;) With all the denim I have, I have not once seen a girl with the same pair of jeans that I have. Maybe because I've only shopped at Aritzia twice in my lifetime =)
hahaha.. i have the same vices less the leather (but that's growing on me.. ;P i'm hunting down a leather jacket right now) a majority of my spending goes to jeans and not so much on tops and what not... i like to wear them with non-brand named stuff.. what gets me is when i see people wearing designer clothing from head to toe.. to me that's tacky and somewhat of an overkill (since all of them are competing with each other).. rather than doing that.. i prefer wearing one or two pieces to either highlight or complement each other..

LEATHER is love. Holy crap I love it lol. I got a new leather jacket as a bday present to myself last week :)

how many pairs of jeans do you have? and if you love denim so much, i expect a pic of your full denim getup including vest and jacket

Damn, do you work full time as well or something?
Tuition a year is like $7,800 (assuming taking 3 semesters at $2600 a semester). Would have to earn $650 a month for that and that's only tuition. Not taking account to food, misc stuff + your clothes? Must be pulling in at least $8-900 a month.

Damn, im so much in debt compared to you guys :(
I'll lend you money....but I demand payment of interests in the form of chocolaty rice krispies.

Right now I'm doing co-op and taking 1 night course. During full time school I take 5 courses and work part time. It's not that impressive, Random_user works and makes a shit load too lol. Don't worry, you'll be fine =)
Those are one pair of inverted heels that actually look good! I applaud you for pulling them off.
I have to ask... what brand are they? Marc Jacobs? I was tempted to buy a pair of Irregular Choice inverted heels but I'm just so nervous that the heel will break!

MJ inverted heel shoes are definitely different. The MJ's are about the 'joke', how the heel is inverted. These are United Nude, Eamz style. The UN's are about ergonomic and architectural/structural design. They are based on the Eames chair.
If I were to pick, I definitely would pick the UN's. The MJ's are just too unsafe. Not to mention the UN's are so comfy!
Those shoes are crazy--I never even knew designers were even thinking of doing that.
Goes to show how fashion ignorant I am.
Props on those shoes though. They're awesome. I'm all curious about how it feels wearing them now.
Also, if there are any sewing gurus in this thread (or forum, for that matter), please help me make the cap for this Toadette costume. It's simply too cute to not be worn.

I am just trying to figure out what's wrong with my budget.
Two full semesters of tuition, frequent dinners/outtings, all designer clothing, full packaged phone bill, car insurance (with a +40% premium surcharge...), purchased own car over one summer of work ($7500). The only thing I don't pay for is rent because i still enjoy living at home.
This is working full time summer, part time during school, and it isn't no coop/ridiculously high paying position.
How I achieve this? Just need to know when to spend and when not to, as well as maintain more than one source of income (eg. not just your day job)
It's all about priorities, i'm not going to lie, i'm fairly materialistic, i'd rather spend a trip's worth of money on a Movado watch or car parts. I just limit my social outtings to local things instead lol. If you like travelling per se, then obviously you can't afford a highly materialistic lifestyle at the same time unless you're powered by mom and dad or making real good money.

Edit:
Also today I'm wearing a plain shirt, jeans, and walking shoes. Really flashy if you ask me.

@IVT: like vonnie said.. i don't think i'll let my fondness of leather grow out of proportion..

but if you're a student with a part time job already, and plan on keeping a social life, the other option would be making proper investments.
i know others that use the casino, stocks etc but i personally do forex.
you can always post in the craigslist erotic services too lol.
