After paying rent, tuition, books, and groceries, I have enough spare money to buy one pair of jeans from some cheap store once every 4 months. I envy you guys who can earn so much while being a full time student and paying off all expenses and still buy $200+ jeans.
Dude, I'm a full time student working part-time. It's honestly not all about the brand names... I'm totally into vintage and all things sample sale-wise. Trust me. Designer jeans are nice, but why not develop your own style? That's why I stopped wearing them -- I hated looking like everyone else.

one day...one day...
Agreed. I wondered as much how students from our school could afford luxury....
Clothes are clothes. Plus, if you are just naturally gifted to look "okay" in anything, then why bother with being selective.
I buy clothes from Walmart--and the funny thing is that the shirts I've bought from there are the ones I got most compliments on.
So it's really about how you wear something rather than how that something wears you.
Both are material goods, who cares what priority they're in?
That was exactly what my point was, BryanL wondered why some people have such expensive clothes as students.
Maybe some people divert money from other things to clothes, or care more about clothes, than they would about video games or gadgets like some other people would.
I wasn't passing any judgements, merely noting that some people have preferences what, and how much, they spend their money on.
Or maybe some people just have way more money than other people and buy lots of things.
I'm a little bit of a brand whore, but I rarely get pieces that splash logos around everywhere and are totally played out. And the only reason I can afford these pieces is by working part-time and from the fact that I get most of my pieces from sample sales or studio sales. Living at home with the parents and not having ANY bills to pay helps a lot too.
Anyway, just because I buy designer things, it does not mean I spend all my monies as well as retail price to get it; my money definitely does not flow from the heavens. I'm a smart shopper. I work my butt off for all the things I buy, and I save up quite a lot. I've saved almost everything I've earned from co-op, I work part-time when I'm full-time at school, and I have a budget.
Also, wearing designer does not mean I don't have my own style, xxk1nky.
