NO MORE $100 DEPOSIT!!! =D

edited June 2009 in General
The $100 Enrollment Deposit is gone!

Effective immediately for Fall 2009 enrollment, the $100 enrollment deposit
for continuing students, undergraduates and graduates, is no longer required
before you enroll in classes.

Simply log in to the Student Information System (http://sis.sfu.ca) and
choose the courses you want at your specified enrollment time.

Please note: Your student financial account must be in good standing. All
prior tuition and fee assessments must be paid prior to enrolling.

We have made this change in response to requests for a less complicated
enrollment process. We are excited about this change and look forward to
informing you of future improvements.

Just less of a hassle for people who pay cheque, or cash, or even waiting 3 days for bank transfers to clear.

It's been on the website and go.sfu for a while too before the email, but it is good, the whole thing must have caused so much admin trouble on their side when it came to issuing refunds and the such.

well.. she doesn't have to fish out that $100 until september so she gets to shop with it during summer (and hopefully save up another $100 in the process).. excuse accepted!

This is very good. I don't know how many times I've gone to register on my appointment day and realize I forgot the deposit. :embarassed:

But it's just my luck that they do it when I won't get the benefit... since this (summer) is my last semester.

it's about time they got rid of it. The system already takes too much tuition. At least it'll reduce the hassle it used to bring to us before.
