I think there are a lot more BUS jobs on the Symplicity than CMPT jobs.

Anyone who is interested in an MIS/BUS/CMPT (less prgming, more mgmt) job, you may have luck. HSBC is still looking for someone suitable. You'll get to work with me ^___^

i submitted 1 application, got 2 interviews (they considered me for another similar job as well), but no offer.
i guess i picked a bad concentration... there were like 3 MIS jobs, while for accounting, CRA alone hired like 30 people (or so I heard from a friend who got hired).
CRA always hires masses of ppl every year.
I'm in MIS too. If you're still looking... ask BUS co-op cord about HSBC b/c they're still looking for someone to start from now to July.

did you already take bus 361 and 362 when you applied?
  • edited May 2009
    I took BUS361, but not 362 yet.

Hey Ian, I may be able to get you into an HSBC job because my dept is still looking, and they said they will reconsider you again. Let me know.

Yes, for a different department. Which dept interviewed you?

Do you remain on the lightning round until you find a job?

Can't remember, I did my interview back in March I think.

I got interviewed for a Project Manager Support Assistant (or something like that) position and a Global Workplace Coordinator position.

^ I'm part of the proj mgmt dept, and my supervisor said she didn't interview anyone so it might have been a dept under the proj mgmt dept. If you give me your info I could get you a new interview w/ my mgr... :)

Sorry about the late reply but I already made too many plans to break them now lol.

I'm thinking of re-seeking in the fall semester instead.

Anybody searching for positions for the Fall? I have an interview with the Canadian Cancer Society next week but I haven't sent out a lot of applications yet...there's really nothing for Communication so I'm into the Arts/Business. Essentially the same I guess, but frustrating!

    Which position?

There are lots of postings for CS this semester. Wasn't the case last semester.

    'Programmer Intern'

i'm actually surprised they want to interview me for this position instead of the more web related one

Congrats! I had my interview with the Canadian Cancer Society yesterday, and I have one with BCNET next Wednesday -- their office is right above the Harbour Centre! That would be super handy.

    thanks geogeek!

vonnie: it's the project administrator intern position for a banking and IT project. the project is dealing with integrating some kind of US banking system into hsbc, and i'll be helping out the project manager with the small things so he can focus on the big things hah. apparently there's a lot of liaising with IT at still creek (that's where you're working right?)

    i'm super excited! :D
