just wanting to know, what do you guys like to do outdoors the most?
canoe?
kayak?
hike?
camp?
etc...?
cheers,
JC
I like hiking, camping, and snowboarding the most. That's pretty much my reason for wanting to do my last degree out west. I'm going camping this weekend.
I've also been known to climb and canoe, but not nearly as often.
@bob: you should definetly get some time out on the water man. go out to deep cove for some kayaking or head out to buntzen lake for canoeing. its 50 bux all day (last time i checked) for canoe rental at buntzen with equipment so if you split with someone else its not so bad (25 bux).
as for hunting. you need a firearms licence, need to pass the C.O.R.E hunters program as well as receive permits and tags for specific animals for the region your hunting. alot of work but a really cool experience.
sky diving is definetly fun :D
as for rock climbing? i would suggest trying indoor climbing places first before you go out and do the real thing. just so you get a feel for it first.

i've yet to try kayaking but i've been wanting to go for the past 3years. dono why i never got around to it.
i mostly go hiking as its cheap and lots of places to do it camping a few times a year haven't been canoeing in awhile used to be hcore into mountain biking (b4 i got a car lol) snowboarding in winter, surfing in summer (tho my surfing sucks compared to boarding lol)
shooting practice is only really do-able to people who own firearms as gun rental is not do-able in Canada, although i believe in the states its A-OK.
drinking to excess usually requires a stationary place, i.e. camping. the logistics of a talkSFU summer camp trip is going to be massively difficult. however, would be awesome.
so far kayaking sounds good. a hike is good too as its generally free. :D
Speaking of which, AgentBob, have you went paintballing yet? If so, how as it?
Unfortunately, no. It's been insanely difficult to try and find 10+ people that wants to come. Most of my friends are gone, and having a few people isn't very fun. I have been go-karting as suggested by bufli, and that was incredibly cool and fun.
Also, thanks for the suggestions hikin. I'm going to go give Deep Cove a try. I've been to Buntzen numerous times, but for some reason I never bothered with the canoeing there. Cool stuff.
archery, is a shooting sport that can be done with rentals i believe... would be a fun group activity to kill some time.
something like archery in the first half of the day (for around 2 hours) and then canoeing/kayaking deep cove (for another 2 hours) and possibly a dinner plan of sorts after that.
Is Deep Cove usually busy? What's the best day to show up where there's minimal amount of people? I have never been there, but looking at the pictures it looks like a harbour.
Going camping on an island at the Quebec/Ontario border called H20 Island (it's owned by a Kayaking company named H20). Most people are going there for kayaking lessons, but I'll just be there "supervising"/drinking. Mostly just want to get out of the city for a bit.
haha i havent been on a pedal boat since i was around 7 or 8 years old, definetly would be fun playing bumper boats trying to sink one another while the owner yells at us from the dock :D
