We need to set the next TalkSFU meet up location to be a summit on a challenging mountain. Those who can't make it will be banned, and those that can shall continue the legacy of this forum.

when you were climbing the chief did you notice the huge waterfall next to it? thats shannon falls.

theres no designated trail so you have to bushwack your way up to the top.

black tusk is located within the garabaldi mountain range. a much better beginner hike for the region is an overnighter to elfin lakes emergency hut. it sleeps 30 and has bunks also have stoves to cook on. this makes the packs considerably lighter.

the lions is also a really great hike. its a 15km hike that takes roughly 6-8 hours depending on how fast of a hiker you are and how light your travelling.

sanderoz diez vistas in belcarra region is definetly an awesome lung buster with some of the best views possible.

and bob. i dont think that'll fly with most members :P

Is there any good places to go hiking on or around Burnaby Mountain?
  • edited May 2009
the trails at burnaby mountain are more for mountain bikers than hikers.

if you drive about 15-20 minutes from burnaby mountain you can go hike at buntzen lake which is easy-difficult trails.
