Why would anyone want to buy a permit or ticket when SFU is not ticketing AT ALL now since UBC's parking dispute? Nobody will buy it now. You should call Parking Services to have it refunded.

SFU was not involved in the recent lawsuit brought against the University of British Columbia concerning the validity of parking fines at UBC. However, in light of the judgment in that case, SFU wishes to take this opportunity to clarify its position on parking enforcement on its Burnaby campus. SFU is entitled to enforce, and will continue to enforce, its parking fee and enforcement regulations on an ongoing basis. Fees for parking must be paid without exception. While the court decision restricts the ability of universities in B.C. to charge fines, SFU continues to be able to impound vehicles parked in contravention of the parking regulations.

SFU will continue to enforce parking regulations with immobilizing devices. A fee related to the cost of applying and removing the device must be paid before the device will be removed.

Any further infractions may result in the permanent withholding of parking privileges. These parking controls are consistent with existing parking regulations and with the decision of Goepel J. in Barbour v. UBC.

Hikin, I will bet you a pay cheque: not even one single vehicle has been ticketed since the court decision of the UBC parking dispute was published. I checked with Parking Services already.

Regarding towing, SFU is indeed still impounding vehicles. However, it is implemented under some very rare situations. So long as you don't park your car in reserved spots or causing safety concerns such as leaving it in the fire lane or in the middle of a drive way blocking traffic, you will not be towed.

Hikin, you sound like you are working for SFU rather than watching out for students' welfare. Are you here to maximize SFU's income?

You get two towing warnings on your car before your car gets impounded.
That said, the two warning tickets can be days apart or 45 minutes apart like what I had last semester, fortunately I left fast enough.

WRONG. Parking Services is NOT issuing warning. At this point in time, SFU is not issuing either warnings or tickets. Go check it out buddy.

Regarding impounding, they do so only for safety reasons, when someone uses other people's permit, or as per the requests of the owners of reserved parking stalls, i.e., when someone occupies their stalls. Up to this date, only a few vehicles have been towed since the UBC court ruling.

Nobody should be buying permit from other permit holder and use it. Doing so is in contravention with SFU's parking policy. If you get caught, you car will be towed and there will be an 8-month parking restriction penalty, i.e., you are only allowed to park at West Mall Visitor parkade for 8 months.

Why do I know? Because I was caught before!

Could you explain the warning ticket part?

They give you two tickets consecutively even when it has been warning ticketed already? wtf? Or did you move your car and they almost caught you?

once you get two warning tickets they will either boot your car or tow it. which you have to pay to get removed yourself.

Oh no, what I mean is that how are "illicit"'s warning tickets issued 45 minutes apart from each other? They give tickets on top of a vehicle already ticketed?
I'm assuming this is a physical warning ticket displayed on your front window?
