    what a great game...
solid goaltending. ( luongo had no chance on the two goals)
defense was solid ( except mitchell's penalties)
    penalty killing was exceptional
    powerplay was effective

overall good result... we got knocked around a bit in the first but we played a good road game to come back and take the momemtum away in the 2nd.

Now that it's 3-0 i guarantee paul kariya will be in the lineup for game 4

When I heard that Pyatt was pulled because of his fiance my first thoughts were, "good thing it's only Pyatt."

how much better are the playoffs compared to regular season games
there is a noticeable level of intensity that just raises the level of play, the puck battles and the effort the players give makes for much more entertaining hockey imo, the players really go at one another trying to send a message because more often than not its a long series

plus the crowd is certainly much more into it, makes the games more enjoyable when u have such great ambiance

Basically, the playoffs is when people jump on the bandwagon.

    ALL ABOARD!!

^^Pyatt's great. He does his job better than most 3rd/4th liners on our team. Its next to never Pyatt the one guilty of not getting the puck out. He hits, skates well, blocks shots and kills penalties. Not sure what else you want for 1.5

averys back to his old antics. funny thing was that he was yapping at varlamov....but varlamov doesn't even know english.

and i will say that the sea of red is quite impressive. it must be embarassing for a flames fan to go without a flames jersey or shirt.

i highly doubt he'll be ready to play, he couldnt even do a hard stop in the practices or contact drills.. playoff ready? i dont think so
  • edited April 2009
apparently he'll play in game 5 if St. Louis survives
  • edited April 2009
great game tonight :) st louis is fighting for their lives and they are desperate for some luck. GO CANUCKS!
  • edited April 2009
alex burrows!!!! HE IS CLUTCH! CANUCKS SWEEP!
  • edited April 2009
don't think anyone even imagined this would happen, but great game by burrows and luongo. Canucks get some much needed rest for the second round.
  • edited April 2009
burrows, dude is just captain clutch

we got outplayed pretty bad after it got tied up too, chances both ways but the blues dominated most of the play and just couldnt put it past lu even with all that pp time

Well, at least Kariya's hips would be ready for golf season!

    Pyatt is back.
  • edited April 2009
hmm i wonder how the team chemistry will be affected with pyatt returning.
  • edited April 2009
if anything, I think the team would want to play better for Pyatt's sake.
  • edited April 2009
true but i mean pyatt's hopefully ready to go cause i hate to see him still make mistakes when his head is not in the game :P GO CANUCKS!
  • edited April 2009
    Vezina finalists are out!
    Mason, Thomas and Backstrom.

and for all you guys hating on Pyatt, try watching a game instead of judging players by their fantasy output
Pyatt skates well for a big guy, is an integral part of the PK, and is 3rd amongst Canuck forwards in hits (ahead of both Kesler and Burrows mind you).
Regarding mistakes, Pyatt 3rd best amongst forwards (that takes a regular shift) on the team in terms of giving the puck away. He has 7 more take aways than giveaways.
Good chance he won't be re-signed because we have Bernier now, but Pyatt is definitely no slouch. Without Bernier, hes the unsung hero hands down. Know your shit pls.

i dont mind pyatt, very underrated penalty killer too

good games tonite with sharks/ducks, hawks/flames

can see both series go 7, but i think the flames are really busted up and dion phaneuf isnt playing so hawks should take it to em and close it up
  • edited April 2009
hawks will take it and ducks will close it out too i think 3-2 scores for both games i predict
  • edited April 2009
Canucks will face Chicago and Detroit faces Anaheim. and the Sharks have yet again proven all they do in the playoffs is choke.

hope thornton learned somethin from this, he was a no show til game 5
getzlaf got to him and was much more dominant overall

chicago was prob a slightly better matchup than detroit for the nucks, excited to see the 2nd round start up

couple of game 7's tomor, looking for caps and canes to win
  • edited April 2009

  • edited April 2009
