I just got back from the Watchmen premiere. It's a really great film and its beautifully shot and directed. It's dark, gritty, and pretty violent. While it may be a superhero movie, it's very different from the Marvel and DC kinds. When watching this, you need to think and be able to connect the pieces. In some respect, it's got an interesting philosophical message behind it. Also keep in mind that this movie is an anti-superhero superhero movie.

    11/10.

You can also see Dr. Manhattan's penis.........teheheheheheheh.

Saw Street Fighter because Watchmen was sold out, worst movie ever. It's definitely a candidate for the raspberries.

saw a few chinese martial arts movie recently

ip man, i liked this, decent enough story and donnie yen is an absolute beast

fearless, the fight parts were good, story was a lil wack (especially the middle, its like they decided to slow it down and try and make a story out of it)

    YES MAN.
    6/10
    yes-man-carrey-set.jpg

I caught this movie w/ my dad the day the DVD came out. Overall, it’s an entertaining movie, with an amazing cast -- actress Zooey Deschanel, Bradley Cooper as pal of main character Carl Allen’s, John Michael Higgins as sex-crazed buddy of Carl’s who gets to use his house as he has to say YES to everything; and of course Jim Carrey (funny as always). Also introducing Rhys Darby, as Carrey’s boss and alter-ego, Norman. However, the plotline does tend to drag a bit…

    Terminator Salvation:

Damn good! Tons of actions, and the special effects and everything else is pretty awesome. I can't really say much about the story since I don't want to spoil it. There's a twist at the end, and the overall plot in this movie seems to reflect back to the previous two, and at the same time answer a few questions. Although beware, make sure you watch the first and second one (but ignore third) before watching the film. There's very little screen time given to explain the backstory or about Skynet.

There's also a part in the film that made the entire theatre go insane and start clapping. Tons of homage in this film. If you watch the previous ones, you'll catch it.

    20/10.

Yea you're right. The Terminator movie was suppose to end at the second. Hollywood is just milking the franchise, but considering that Terminator is a dead horse I still really enjoyed the fourth one.

Anyone watch Ghosts of Girlfriends Past yet? My girlfriend keeps buggin me to go see it but I'm not sure if any romantic comedy with Matthew Mcconaughey is worth paying for in a theater. Stream online maybe lol

As a side note, I did watch Menace II Society (1993) last night and it wasn't as interesting as it once was. Really made me wanna get a 5.0 Liter Mustang with Daytons though...

    Bringing back this thread!

American History X - chilling and surprisingly good
Drag Me to Hell - Alison Lohman has nice legs
He's Just Not That Into You - Actually kind of funny
    QoS - kinda sucked
Watchmen - Blue dong! Girl from 27 Dresses as brunette = hot
27 Dresses - I will not admit to seeing this movie
Eagle Eye (2008) - Just like The Echelon Conspiracy except slightly more developed and better
The Echelon Conspiracy (2009) - Just like Eagle Eye except smaller budget
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - pretty funny if you enjoy dark humour

    Movies I've watched lately:

    Notorious: 7.5
    17 Again: 6
    Public Enemies: 7.5
Red Cliff 2 (Chinese movie): 5. 1st one was way better.
PUSH: was so looking forward to this movie... it kinda let me down, although the best thing about it is you get to see what it's like in HONG KONG... the story is basically like a treasure-hunt, but it does get kind of confusing at times...
Shutter: This horror film had me up @ night! lol I don't want to know what the original "Thai version" is like...
Watchmen: very "SinCity-esque"... really overrated imo.
HOME: talks about the planet earth, and ultimately what it'll look like if humans don't stop the pollution, etc. really great documentary!!

i need to contribute to this thread too.. =P

The Proposal: okay.. so the genre is a romance comedy but i find there's more comical moments in this than the sappy romance.. i enjoyed the laughs.. and i must say.. sandra bullock still has that bangin' body

UP: aww... this is why i love disney so much..X) they give simple heart-warming stories that much more depth..

Hangover: i went into this movie thinking that i would literally laugh my head off.. suffice to say.. that didn't happen.. or maybe i just didn't get the humor..

Orphan: definitely one of the best psych thrillers around.. isabelle fuhrman was phenomenal in portraying a homicidal maniac and the best part about it was they kept me in the dark about what the twist was until the end.. i'm no stranger to psych thrillers and i hate it when i can tell what the ending is going to be like halfway through the movie but i couldn't do it with this one.. i'm gonna go see this again because it actually gave me the chills... and aryana engineer is the most cutest adorable little girl ever!!

I just watched Star Trek. It was great. Definitely recommend it :)

Harry Potter: Half Blood Prince - Fantastic! I loved it. I guess it's because the actors/actresses are getting older and better. Dumbledore's spell was crazy!

I agree with this woman on Hangover and The Proposal. Hangover is like this cheap low brow humour movie that doesnt really connect and whenever the storyline needs to move somehow, they just throw some random shit in to keep it going.

Agree x2. There aren't a lot of films that can capture the intensity of modern warfare like the Hurt Locker. Beautiful cinematography too.
