First place showdown would be FANTASTIC, but I'll be at work )= Boo.

As long as they pull it together come mid-April, I'm a happy fan (=

first place showdown only if calgary loses tonite

i think the math works out so the worst the canucks can seed is 6th in the grand scheme of things
  • edited April 2009
rather be 6th and play Calgary then 5th and play Chicago
  • edited April 2009
I don't care who we play... I think the canucks can take chicago, columbus and even calgary in a best of 7. It's just that there are more preferable matchups in our favour but i think if we want to go far we'll have to play some tough teams eventually anyways.

No way. Chicago is a young team and I think their lack of experience will show in the playoffs.

A series against Chicago would be gold.

true enough but chicago does have young guns and in a long series that youth could make a difference as we will be banged up and can't keep up with their speed and energy.

I don't think you want to face Calgary in the first round, considering all the emotion and experience they have. Chicago and Columbus both are relatively inexperienced, and I like the Canucks chances against both. Don't forget that Anaheim might creep into the 6th spot with the way they're playing.

Oh right Anaheim the darkhorse. I think anaheim might be capable of pulling a first round upset.

    Youth = undisciplined penalties.

:P That's true but it's not like the canucks have a great powerplay anyways LOL

    exciting trip report:
I was at the Canucks store earlier (maybe around 3pm) and who do I see but Sami Salo with his young kids

I just asked for a picture since he seemed busy trying to make sure his kids dont run off too far. Kinda regret not asking for an autograph

i think the math breaks down to

if calgary beats us in regulation tomr night, then they win the division
any of the other outcomes, we'll need wins/pts + help from edm as well
  • edited April 2009
well good thing is, Calgary hasnt won the back end of a back to back in quite some time

Yea, their 5-9 in the past little while but the Canucks have also butchered their last 3 games...so definitely a big game tonite. The division is on the line but also momentum going into the playoffs.

Call it bad luck, call it fate, but the Flames have found themselves stymied by netminders who are at the top of their game.

That will likely not be the case tonight in Vancouver.
    From yesterdays Calgary Herald =D

It's funny how unloyal Canucks fans are. Just the day before, they booed Luongo off the ice after the second period when they were getting bashed by the Avalanche. And now all of a sudden Luongo is god.
  • edited April 2009
To make a counter-argument, last game was arguably the first game that Luongo has actually stolen this season. Fair enough.
  • edited April 2009
the city is full of bandwagoners been like this for years and isnt gonna change

forgot to post pool b for this, here is c

tough choice, i was gonna pick one of the goalies, but the stafford move was really smooth and was against the leafs lol
  • edited April 2009
I doubt they were just booing Luongo against the Avs
And I'm split on Toews and Stafford..

Luongo with another strong game against LA. I seriously think he should get a vezina nomination. Go Canucks! Can't wait for playoffs. Just think if luongo wasn't hurt he could be challenging mason for the lead in shutouts.
  • edited April 2009
to be honest i wouldnt mind if we rested luongo tomorrow, regardless of the edm/cgy outcome tonite

they probably wont b/c they think a shot at the division title is worth it
but imo resting him (especially considering the time of the game, and the last time he got injured) and ensuring he is healthy into the first round is much more important
