I'm starting this thread as a place to keep up with the latest developments in the field of Ebooks...as a student, this is very relevant because any changes in the publishing industry will directly affect the way we buy and use textbooks and other reading materials.

    i heard/read a bunch about kindle, still relatively new in the growth curve and mostly unheard of

    will be very interesting on how they develop and market this in the future

    ability to download content just provides it so much opportunity for things like media/content subscriptions

    Yea the new Kindle could very possibly be the ipod/itunes of the book world...but of course since it's books, it'll take a lot longer for it to catch on. And I'm assuming the Kindle 1.0 saw some growth, otherwise they would not have spent money on a second version. Its also one of the only devices on the market right now that uses "E-Ink" which is really different then the LCD displays we have running everywhere right now.

    I'm not a fan of the lcd screens. I think qualcomm is coming out with colour ebook screens which look pretty amazing.
