Anyone else forget what they learned from their last year courses?

edited March 2009 in General
Hi, whenever I take a class I study like crazy for it, and eventually get an A or a B, and then i end up forgetting almost everything about it the following year. I mean today I tried to think back on my last year courses like history, art, and financial accounting but I can't seem to recall!! I feel like I'm going to graduate SFU and not remember anything I learned previously!

So is anyone else like this too?

well in science you're basically required to remember it lol, so no not really.
...plus if you plan on taking the mcat or something, you have to make an effort to stay familiar with all the material.

I forgot all of calculus and macm, and honestly, I'm glad I did. I can't stand anymore math, it drives me insane. However, I do remember most of the stuff I learned from Intro to University Writing and it's actually quite helpful when writing essays.

For some subjects, yes. For instance, PoliSci and Archaelogy. I surprisingly still remember parts of Philosophy though... ugh.

Depends on what courses you are talking about.

Even though remembering prior knowledge is not too important in History and Humanities, it is definitely a bonus (both metaphorically and literally). To be honest, remembering prior knowledge is not too important in Humanities because our course selections are so diverse and so different from one another. What you learn from one course will have little relation whatsoever with another course, especially in courses of the same level...

Yup, Ger 104 last summer. We went to a German restaurant for dinner with the class after finals, and we were supposed to order in German, but of course, half the class had forgotten what they learned
