How come you sign your post now?

Anywho, although Nigel didn't win, the number of votes he's gotten from the lack of posters is really impressive. I didn't even hear about him until he came onto this forum. Kudos.

:p My bad, I'm still kind of in a tizzy because of the results.

I was pointed towards TalkSFU because I was told of a certain thread bashing a one Andy Shen, who was looking to be my successor.

Honestly I have to tell you all I have not laughed that hard in a LONG time, although some of the bashing may have been a bit excessive.

Regardless, I wish that I had been brought here earlier during my time at SFU (this is my last semester, and I am eagerly looking forward to severing all of my SFU-related ties, at least for a little while, just to see what it's like :D).

I'll tell the incoming MSO (that would be Mona) to keep an eye on this place. ;)

Don't worry about the double posting, I was actually debating about rather to start a new thread or not.

Regarding the Andy Shen being your sucessor thing...

    Hahahhahaahhahhahahahhahahah.

Well, at it turns out, that "Andy Shen" turns out to be a troll inpersonating the real Andy Shen.

Thanks, we definitely need more girls on this forum. Just don't tell Natalie Bocking about this place. We don't need another BabyE on this forum.

    Among other things, yes.

Also, I realised that this student politics stuff isn't for me, although it's a damn fine job and a great experience in terms of the real-world practical stuff you learn, in addition to the intangibles such as meeting and working with others in a unique setting. I wholeheartedly encourage anyone who may be on the fence about running for a spot in the SFSS to just take the plunge.

Actually, I had quite a few people inquiring if (I would say even suggesting that) I should run for president, but I was quick to say no. After doing all the things I did at SFU (peak, rez, orientation, SFSS, and CAC!) I felt it was time to move on and let others try stuff out.

Haha you don't need to be asian to join CAC.

For example, Graham Hiscocks is a member of CAC, it even says so on his posters!

Hey Everyone, I appreciate this board supporting me in my bid for office. Unfortunately Mona Law annihilated me... Which is fine. I had a lot of fun, and met lots of new people. Now I just have to figure out how to change my user name back to plain ol' Nigel.

You, as well as all of us, won the satisfaction of knowing that we once again handed Andy yet another humiliating defeat. So, how many elections have Andy lost?

Technically speaking, India (LazyGuy, you are brown right?) is a part of Asia. So you, technically, are Asian...

There are some results I'm not fond of, but the only one that really surprises me is Andrew Fergusson beating Robert Lutener. In hindsight, I suspect most people were basing their decision on the quality of posters.
  • edited March 2009
Robert Lutener seemed kinda snooty, even over-qualified which makes you wonder what hes doing in student politics with all his businesses
  • edited March 2009
    From Facebook:

    Andy Shen
    is "retiring" from student politics.

    Y. E. S.

Although specifying "student" alludes that he will continue with other types of politics =T
  • edited March 2009
^I just checked his FB profile and I would just like to say: Mission Accomplished!!!

I am happy that that he has given up Student Politic altogether, especially after losing consecutive elections. However, I am rather facinated by his remark that "I prefer ubc politics better and their structure is very organized unlike the sfss." Anyone of you ever heard of the Aesop fable call Fox and the Grapes?
