By Reserve Seating become open to the general population, are you refering to open enrollment?

If so, there is something on GoSFU about "Enrollment Appointment" ending on April 3, 2009 at 11:59PM. I am guessing April 4 is the Open Enrollment then...

But then again, there are departments that reserve their seats long after this period. For example, I believe the Kinesology reserves their seats until the first week of class. I just called Student Service and they said it is depended from Department to Department, so it is best to call the department and ask them directly.

some classes are reserved specifically for people decalared in a program for that faculty.

such as english. 100% of 400 is reserved for people who are declared and 75% is reserved for 300.

It's April 4th. I emailed the English undergrad advisor about when engl 101 will open to all students, and she said April 4th.

I assume at midnight on April 4th I can enroll?

I am actually going to try and get into Engl 101.

Don't they put you on the wait-list for now even though there are ample amount of space available? Once April 4 comes, you will be enrolled into whatever space is available or left in the course.

I have not seen the option to waitlist.

    *Try enrolling myself*

Umm, JayDub, are you sure you did everything correctly? I managed to enroll myself into ENGL-101 successfully...

Or are you just messing with me, like almost everyone on here recently.

Yeah I did, selected Engl 101, selected my tutorial, proceed to step 2 of 3, finish enrolling, ok, but then get the error saying that I can't enroll because:

Error: You are unable to enroll in this class at this time. Available seats are reserved and you do not meet the reserve capacity requirements.

^This is another one of those SFU WTF moment that I am completely baffled...

Are you in Arts? The advisor said the course is only opened for people in Arts until the 4th.

I am declared as a Crim major.

So I know the head Arts Advisor fairly well since I am working on a project with her for Arts Central.

I asked her if she can get me in Engl 101 and she says she's going to try. Is this a dick move? Most likely. Good thing I am apathetic.

Oh please, this is nothing compare to what I did to get into HUM-302. As least you didn't jump the waitlist to get into the course. I literally demand my HUM advisor to either put me into HUM-302 or exempt me from the WQB requirement.

I learned that a little aggression does go a long way.

While you are at it, may you ask her why a History and Humanities Double Major like myself can enroll in the course while you can't? I am fascinated in figuring out the answer.
