Did you get the classes you wanted?

edited April 2009 in General
I got all I wanted besides one, which had 55 seats and was full by day two of registration. I'm assuming they were nearly all open scholarship people that beat me, but damn 55 people.

I'm sure I can get a seat once someone drops in first week but minor annoyance.

Has anyone ever heard why some departments don't have waitlists? I just dont see why some do and some don't. I think it looks bad for the university when they can't apply things standard across the board.

Nope, I did not get a single course that I wanted. I guess I can always take this summer off...

I have throught about going to some college and take some course to transfer it back to SFU. But then again, it is totally not worth the trouble because, as well as tuitions, I will also be paying student service fees, student union fees, and other fees, all for one course...

You can always wait until first week, people always give up and forget that in like 99% of cases you can get in first week.

Except in some classes with tutorials, where the only available tutorial would conflict with another class.

I am taking only 3 classes.

    Bio102
    MBB 222
    Math 152

I was so lucky to get the classes I wanted.

To tell you the truth, I am rather happy that I am getting a break this year. My third year was rather hectic and I didn't get much time for stuff outside of school.

The only problems I can foresee is that I have become addicted to the U-Pass and I will probably be getting a major ass chewing from my relatives for skipping out on this year's family vacation. Anyone remember this thread?

Someone want to throw me some excuse that can get me off the hook?

Don't worry, that course I want is a 4th Year Seminar. Besides, the Prof has not even uploaded his course outline onto the History website yet, so that pretty much said everything regarding his/ her dedication to teaching.

Well I wanted to take either CRIM 312 or CRIM 413 (both DE) but both were completely full when it was my turn to register. So now I am stuck in CRIM 300 DE and I am going to try to get into one of those two classes.

CMPT 383 and CMPT 475 I got into, though I am not excited about CMPT 475 this semester because the way the prof is teaching it makes it look like CMPT 275 again. This semester it was much easier, learning techniques and writing papers.

I am also going to try and get into ENGL 101 the day it opens to all students.

    I got into 312, but I couldn't get into 413 either.

Oh sweet, when I get into 312, we can study together and help each other with our papers!

Oh the good times and possibilities.

Speaking of study together and help each other, when do you want to meet-up to review for HUM-130 final?

You are planning on actually studying for that final?

I'm taking 312 DE, I heard it was much easier since its only 3 assignments and onlien participation...I had the option of taking the class but I just heard bad thigns about Boyd

Anyone know if the class is structured in the same was as the DE version?
  • edited March 2009
Class is so much easier, you should drop out of the DE version.
  • edited March 2009
I heard it wasn't bad and I'm quite good with reading/writing but never know..
  • edited March 2009
You should still drop out of the DE version, right now.
  • edited March 2009
LOL I just realized you didn't get the DE version.

I'll let you know how it is ;)

Don't worry, I will sit by the computer every day, refreshing the crim courses page until I can no longer register in any classes, to get into another crim class.

I am not taking any chances, besides I found the amount of stuff I need to memorize to be somewhat overwhelming.

I just got in two CRIM classes, neither I really want to do. CRIM 314 DE and CRIM 312 the seminar with Neil Boyd.

I am going to stay in both till I can either get CRIM 312 DE or CRIM 413 DE.

    Update

I manage to enroll into HIST 436: British Columbia because a few schmucks already enrolled in the class dropped out. It seems that I can indeed finish my History 400-Level and Group 2 requirement within two semesters!

Looks like this will be a good summer for me.

This summer will be the last semester that Canadian Studies will be operational before it dies and rots in Hell. Therefore, I doubt anybody, especially people in the Canadian Studies program, would trade anything.
