SFU and UBC?! HELP!!
okay....is there anyone in sfu who is planning to go to ubc medical school? or transferring to become a family doctor?
what major r u gonna do in sfu?
is it easier to do a major and apply to the md program or do the 90 creidits and apply at the undergrad thing?
i was looking at the sfu site...and i dont know the required courses...like am i just supposed to do: LOWER DIVISION REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL BSc HEALTH SCIENCE STUDENTS and the UPPER DIVISION REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL BSc HEALTH SCIENCE STUDENTS course? and is that it? or do i have to also do the ADDITIONAL REQUIRED COURSES FOR GENERAL STUDIES STREAM, etc?
also the max. 60 credit thing....does that mean if i have over i wont get accepted? or does that 60 credits only matter for transferable courses? cause i did some random courses....and i dont want them to f*** me over abot 60 credit thingie
PLEAS HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eligibility to apply is after 90 credits but its almost always recommended that you do the extra year and get the extra degree (at least you have something to fall back on if everything doesn't go so smooth). In addition, your chances are raised quite a bit seeing as you are in a competition with other students
Unless you have like a 4.0 GPA and plan on getting a crazy MCAT score, I suggest you finish the BA program out.
There is a link somewhere at the ubc med school webiste somewhere that tells you of exactly what courses you need/should have in order to apply.
I think that differs though when you apply to med school with a majority of credits split between two universities, in which case they may look at the actual CGPA of both schools and combine them...so I'm assuming anyway
give us some links
what year are you in?
and health sci is a good degree if med school is your aim

so...if i do a bsc in health sci do i apply in the undergrauate thingie or the md/phd thingie? http://www.med.ubc.ca/education/admissions.htm
......md/phd...there site doesnt say anything about 60 creidts.but most universities they only accept up to 60 credits from other post-secondary institutions....is that true for med school?......sry if im not making any sense...im just soo wrryy since i have nothing planned out yet
SOme med schools which are more easier on the reqs, like If you finish a four year degree (120credits) they only look at your last 60 cedits (years 3 and 4) and calculate your GPA from that. This is to "forgive" those who fucked around in years 1 and 2 and really buckled down in years 3 and 4.
While some Universities calulate the GPA based on the 4 years (60 credits)
Its a shame your posts are not as deep and meaningful as mine
ahhh ic!!! this makes much better sense than wut ive been hearing! is ubc like that too? check gpa of years 3 and 4? or do they check years 1-4....i'll prob be at sfu for more than 4 years. :(
....get your emotions right woman
lol
That is fucked!!
Harvard, McGill but not UBC?
I'd probably be happy UBC didn't accept me if I was in her situation
