There are quite a number of lurkers on this forum. They join, yet they rarely, if ever, post. Off the top of my head, there are cowmilk11 and amyhou, no offense.
GEOG 111 is like gr12 geo... actually most of the concepts go back to gr9 science ... the only thing thats new is a few equations to calculate energy, glacier mass ... shit like that (plug and play equations) oh and maybe some of you never used a map/compass b4 that could also be "new" overall tho this class was cake as for my prof i dont remember his name i took it back in 1st year i think he was pretty good prof ill try and see if i can get his name
edit: his name was Owen Hertzman http://www.sfu.ca/geography/people/faculty/owenhertzman/index.html i remember some ppl didnt like him, including my TA, but i think he was good, presented the material in a very unbiased manner although he told us what his bias was and his opinions overall the focus was on being open minded when it came to topics of climate change
i kid u not when i say that the degree of difficulty (of sci 300) is equivalent to grade 10/11 science classes

By the way, has anyone taken PHYS-190: Intro to Astronomy? I am planning to take this in the Fall 09 semester to finish my Q, in case I decide to not wait for CHEM 191 anymore.
I try to avoid any science courses that have any labs. Since high school, I have had bad lucks when it comes to doing labs and experiments in school. There is always a contaminated test-tube or a broken scale that screw my lab over.
Thanks for the suggestions. Are there science courses where there are no numbers involved, and its based on essay writing or participation and such?
If you are talking just plain B-Science course that doesn't involve any numbers, there is an Earth Science call ENSC-103: Rise and Fall of Dinosaurs. It is a B-Science and Writing course. I guess this course would be good if your program doesn't have any lower level W course. However, I would advice you against taking this course because, for the sake of efficiency and killing two birds with one stone, I generally advice people to take B-Science courses with Q as well.
One of the best course out there is CHEM-192: Chemistry in Your Life. Back when I took it in Fall 07, it is just Science 10 review plus some research. However, Prof. Goyan has since made the course more difficult after me, an Arts student, got an A in the course. Give it look.
Other B-Science course with Q are PHYS-190: Astronomy and CHEM-191: Stone Age to Nano Technology. I am currently waiting for CHEM-191 being offered in the Spring 10 semester.
Anyone know how Kin courses are? I.e. 140, 142, or 143? I didn't do any of hte sciences in high school and 142 and 143 recommend bio, chem and phy 11 so I"m not sure...140 on the other hand doesn't recommend anything
Also, who is sci-300 good with since its apparently quite easy???

Should I be worried if this class is being taught by John Canal? Instead of that woman? I don't need a science credit but I could use an easy UD course

Agreed. Sounds a little easier than Kin from the looks of things...anyone have an idea on Canal and if he teaches the same way/course (i.e. as easy as) Dr. Erika Plettner??
Well that question can't really be applied here. That class is for the faculty of science, whereas SCI-300 is designed for people outside of science. If you had no background in science whatsoever, I wouldn't think you'd go straight into a chem course that has prereqs.
I've read this thread and have decided on taking PHYS 190. I still need 1 more Sci credit though. I'm thinking CHEM 192, but it sounds like professor goyan has made it more difficult than it was in the past, and if i took phys 190 and chem 192 i'd have to go to school mon-fri which sucks.
I could take a CMPT class, but i have zero experience with html or whatever the fuck else they talk about in those classes.

Kinesology Department is pretty hardcore when it comes to reserving their seats for their guys and girls, even at lower level courses.

i recall a quiz or maybe midterm where it had questions like 'define what an electron is' 'what does roygbiv stand for' really pathetic crap like that

only downside was that there was only like 9 or 10 ppl in the class i took it with, so i couldnt fall asleep :x
