I did, but you kind of have to fight with them to get the $150.00. They kept telling me that my uploaded picture of my Green Shield card only proved I have health coverage (wrong) so I had to call a few times and explain that the company provided both...kind of annoying.

isn't it too late by now?

I think shades is asking for those who applied before if they've gotten their money back yet now.

Applying for it was easier than I thought. I took a crappy webcam pic of the card stating that my mom (different surname) had coverage for health and dental for herself and the family, and they accepted it. Whereas at a different university I attended prior to sfu, they made you fill in a form, attach proof, which in my case was an actual letter from my mom's HR dept stating that I was covered, cause her surname was different from mine. I was schooling away from home at the time too, so it was just a hassle altogether.

But yeah, I wanted to know if people have been credited back already. Cause I applied and was approved really early on when they started accepting applications, but the credit still hasn't shown up on the SIS yet. =(

I just uploaded a photo before paying tuition and they deducted it within a few days

Hmm. Is health and dental supposed to show up as a separate charge/transaction..? Cause I'm looking at my account activity right now, and aside from tuition, I was only charged for Rec + Athletics, Student Activity, Student Services, and UPass. And this hasn't been updated since Jan 9, which is before I applied and was approved for the Health and Dental waiver.

So does that mean I was never charged for it to begin with..? -__-

^They should be in your Account Activity, check if it is on the next page. If not, they probably just refunded that $123.23 you paid and didn't bother leaving a record in your account.

I've checked and double-checked. There's no transaction that says anything about health/dental. All the records are there for whatever I've paid them, and everything they've paid back to me for deposits and refunds of any sort...so the only reason I could think of as to why there is no record of any payment or refund for health/dental is that I was never charged for it...and therefore never paid it in order for them to give back it to me..? lol

But then, I thought health/dental was mandatory, so that doesn't make sense to me either. I should probably just talk to them about it one of these days. -__-

I got my refund the day after they accepted it, which was something like 2 days after I submitted.

I finally get to test out my new Health/ Dental Plan this Saturday when I have a Dental Appointment. Believe it or not, I am actually looking foward to this dental appointment... Let's see if the health plan is worth it.

Anything I should be aware of when I am using the Dental Plan?

What a coincidence, I had a dental appointment yesterday (Saturday). But It was the last appointment before I hit 19, so it was paid for by the government. I hate the dentist so I don't plan on going in case I needed to.

But I do want to use it to get my contacts and maybe a new pair of glasses. Will I get full coverage for those?

According to SFSS's Heath Plan page, all eye glasses and contact lenses are covered $100 per 24 months. I guess what it meant is that you are covered up to $100 worth of glasses and contacts within a two year period.

Anyone want to correct me in case I made a mistake?

I claimed contacts when I was on sunlife last time.

Schedule an eye check-up while you're there too because its a separate fee you can milk, outside of the contacts and glasses. It may or may not cover in full, as there is a limit on the amounts you can claim, but I would say its fair.

What an even bigger concidence.. I went in for a dental appointment too yesterday hahaha! Wait what, gov't covers under 19 for dental? :S

Apparently it was the last day until Blackout Period was over so I had to get charged first then get paid back with a cheque or something (as opposed to have it covered on the spot? I'm really not sure). Nothing special though.. the receptionist took care of everything (I printed out the forms and brought them just in case but she said she didn't need them).. just needed my student card and signature in some places.
