What can you do in this kind of situation

basically it takes me 40 minutes to drive to school usually.... i had an assignment due yesterday and the prof don accept late homework. we have to submit an electronic copy and paper copy... yesterday, there was an accident on the highway and i was stuck on it for 1 hour and half and it took me a total of 2 hour and half to DRIVE to school...... the prof doesn't accept the assignment anyways....in this kind of situation, what can you do?

    Nothing. Or say it was a family emergency! That's what my best friend did for her tech assignment. Luckily her girlfriend's grandfather was in the hospital and they were able to get a note.

    you need to have a note from the police officers that were on the scene of the accident.

    If you submitted it electronically before the deadline, it shouldn't matter if your paper copy was late, since it would be exactly the same. If the prof doesn't accept that fact, then I would consider going to the dean. There's the risk of retaliation for the remainder of the semester though.

    OR perhaps you should explain your situation to the TA if they're the ones marking the assignment and see if your work can be squeezed into the pile.

    ask the prof if he knows your name, if he doesn't, throw your work into the middle of his pile and walk away.

    some private extra-curricular activities with your prof should do the job.

    but on his assignment, it says no late assignment accepted and handing only one copy gets blah blah % off....
