  Uh, that would be because the Burnaby campus informed all their workers that nonessential personnel were not required to be present today.

  I think it's funny that I get information about campus closures and weather conditions from talkSFU way before they send out any of their "emergency" text messages

  You should be emailing or dropping by office hours...some advisors don't even pick up their phones when they are around if its not being dialed from an internal number.
