New Years Resolutions

edited January 2009 in General
Mine is to slow things down in my life and focus more on the things that matter like family and personal growth (ie. health) and less on things like entertainment and socializing. I have a feeling 2009 is going to be a really good year.

Whats yours?

I have never made a new years resolution, and don't plan on starting any time soon.

quit smoking, transition from coffee to tea, drink less, and spend more time in the woods.

    flexibility, hot

last year I set out to workout more, drink less coffee and something else, I think eat less junk food
I managed to workout a bit more, drink less caffeine was an utter fail, the junk food bit I'm on the fence. I think I did a bit better but not by much

Pretty much the same shit this year

I am already in shape so that is not a problem for me.

Last year my resolution was to read a book a month. It worked out and I think I read more books than months so that was good.

This year I am going to do the same as well as drink no pop for a year.

I only did 20 minutes of cardio a day in 2008, but I'm starting to make time for 30 min, and I have a 2-month membership for bikram yoga in my area. My resolution is to keep up to those promises!

    I can't think of anything >.<

    Well. Actually I lied.

I want to save all the money I earn from Co-op.
K I lied. Maybe not all. But 90% of it. 10% spending money.
At the end I should have about $20k to pay off my student loan and get some interest.

    Yay Tax Free accounts!

Which one are you going to do as well?

I think resolutions made because its a new years are doomed to fail.

I remember 6 months ago I told myself I need to start going back to the gym for my overall health, and I've stuck to it since.

I have a reason for kicking myself in the ass if I have a good reason to.

But I guess any resolution to better yourself is better than nothing.

im stealing the "read a book every month" one. i actually picked up catch 22 and started reading it, gotta say that its quite a boring start
any resolution is possible if you pick something realistic and specific

    Mutually exclusive!

Don't meet a girl and then bring her to a meetup. That would not impress her too much.

    Anger management.

I know I said some rude and foul things on this forum in the past and I just want to say I am very sorry to everyone, honest. It was the only outlet for anger (at that time) and I was getting screwed over by the school.

just playing devils advocate, but there's online dating is becoming more common with sites like plentyoffish out and about, and more things in general are becoming internet related so why can't dating be one?

    but that's besides the point.

New year's resolution, cgpa 2.75+ by the end of this semester hopefully. Coop by the end of this year.
