The Toronto Star and the Globe and Mail reported on riots in Greece, stemming from union protests seeking wage hikes and increased social spending and the shooting by police of a 15-year-old boy. Both quoted SFU prof Andre Gerolymatos, who was caught in the rioting when he arrived at his hotel: “There are anarchists, students, hoodlums and thieves breaking windows of stores and looting. . . The young are looking at a dismal future with a standard of living that may be lower even than their grandparents. They're unhappy and violent, and that won't end soon."
Son of a *****, you mean Prof. Andre Gerolymatos was already on vacation when I was writing his HIST 307 exam on Monday, December 8!?
