Did the enrollment date pass?

I was too busy with final papers and exams and never got around to choosing courses...the start of my enrollment term was December 5, 2008. Now, when I finally have time...it won't let me enroll >_>

When I checked the final deadlines in the deadlines page, it says January 9 is the last day though...

    First of all, why would you skip choosing courses? It barely takes an hour and choosing courses for next semester is just as important as papers and exams.

    As for why you are not allowed to enroll, I believe I have an explaination for this. Were you "too busy with final papers and exams" that you have not even paid your $100 Deposite for next semester?

    You can add classes up until like the third week of classes, I know this as I've swapped classes this late...as mentioned above maybe you didnt pay your deposit

    Yeah...I know, it was stupid to not choose it earlier...>_>

    I didn't pay the $100 deposit for next semester but...ever since I paid that deposit the first time back in the summer, it hasn't shown that charge again in the payments option (which specifies that I have no oustanding charges).

    Is there like a deadline for paying the $100 deposit or something?

    Theres no deadline, you just cant register until you pay it.

    I pay the deposit way ahead of time each semester in case I forget.

    Why did you wait after your date though...? Even the crappy classes fill up eventually. Although honestly, you can normally get any class you want in the first week of classes when people drop, if theres no waitlist.

    The $100 for the deposit doesn't show in the charges due.

    At least not when I did it.

    It's not a charge, if it says you have no outstanding charges then you need to pay your $100 deposit. Your account balance should read -$100.00 (at least, I guess) before you're allowed to enroll.

    It never shows, you just have to know to pay it. I think there is always a reminder on the right hand bar before registration too...

    Mine does, it says -100.00.

    You might have some luck in CMPT courses. Some of the third year CMPT courses aren't even full yet. I swapped a lot around these past couple days and it was no problem.

    if you spend an hour picking courses on your enrollment date then you're doing it wrong. Takes 10 mins at most.

    Haha I picked my courses in under 5 minutes? Is that bad? Didn't know choosing courses was like taking a midterm haha.

    I know what I have to take, I check to see what conflicts, then I register for those that don't.

    ^Ok, fine, I may have overstated my "an hour" thing. However, sometimes, there are just one of those last minute changes that extend the time I need to register. For example, there are always the time where course was full minutes before you register or when you realize just how grueling your schedule is once you see the time table. Even if I finish registering, I would go back a few minutes later after I had one of those "what was I thinking moment."

    I need help again...I am unable to pay the deposit...when I click on "Make Payment", this message appears under it:

    "There are no charges on your account that your institution allows you to pay by credit card. Credit card payments are not accepted for regular tuition and fees. The preferred payment method is by internet/telephone banking."

    Under charges due and summary, they both list my outstanding charge as nothing. Therefore, there is nowhere where it allows me to pay the $100 payment.

    perhaps you should map out your schedule in excel or something while your planning your courses, it should help to visualize things.

    they don't charge you, you just pay the 100 to your account and it shows up as extra (thus the negative balance), it'll later count against your tuition.

    Current student?

    At least two or three days before you enroll in your second or subsequent term, pay your $100 enrollment deposit through online or telephone banking or by cheque or money order to Student Accounts in Student Services, Maggie Benston Centre 3000. This deposit will be deducted from your total tuition.

    In the context of my response I meant it never shows something like: "You owe us 100.00.", in regards to the deposit as opposed to tuition

    Although maybe they could avoid a lot of student questions by just making it show up...would save everyone a lot of trouble on both sides.
