The bible is wrong, therefore creationism is also wrong. Done and done.

Shouldn't this be in the Debates section?

lol evolution. life from nothing over billions of years. yeah sure, son

Listen you guys, clearly creationism is right. God created earth 6,000 years ago and placed the dinosaurs skeletons and the skeletons of human "ancestors" on the earth to trick humans.

Clearly this makes more sense than evolution.

Creationism is an illogical explaination for the origin of earth who ignored the logic and reason of science.

    what?

I still find it funny how the god-lovers find it SO outlandish that single-celled organisms from 4 billion years ago may have evolved over time via genetic mutation and variation, while some organisms along the way were selected out for not being able to adapt....yet they can believe that an almighty man in the sky just decided to create all of this one day...and it seems to make more sense to them.

    What ever happened to logic?

There are some people who refuse to give up and state that the process of evolution was created by a super being.

Genesis states that God created life in the sea first "and the sea brought forth..." about 4,000 years ago

According to the theory of evolution, micro organisms formed in the oceans 4,000,000,000 years ago, right?

    soo

    Theory of evolution = 1000000(Genesis - God)

    seems about right.
  • edited December 2008
But the bible is a lie so using that 4,000 is like using improper scientific data, all you are doing is cooking the numbers.

I don't know if I'm missing something here on my e-sarcasm meter, you arent serious are you?

If you are going to quote from the old testament do you believe all the other crazy stuff in there =)? Seriously now lol... I can't believe anyone in a post-secondary institution, let alone someone in the sciences would be saying this if you aren't joking.

yea i believe in the whole thing. Deal with it.

    and yes, lol arts.

I don't have to deal with anything =). It is your own internal struggle, you might need help dealing with your own salvation if you live your life by a book even modern christians don't believe in.

So I suppose you've never eaten shellfish in your entire life? Also prohibited by the old testament. I personally like lobster and shrimp =)

last time i checked, the fossil record was nowhere near complete

also, the probability of life forming from nothing is too slim

Depends what part of it you focus on. Human evolution is well documented, frog evolution is not. The overall transformations, such as the development of weight-bearing appendages by fish, are well documented.

But you fall back on the common ignorance of creationists, which says that the fossil record is evidence for the truth of evolution, when in reality it has LONG been supplanted by molecular biology. Today the fossil record doesn't tell us whether evolution happened, it tells us HOW it happened, and what forms existed. The evidence for common ancestry, and the construction of the detailed evolutionary tree, comes from genetics.
