edited December 2008 in General
Yay! Another thread! Fun fun fun! Are you tired of me yet??? =D

Has anyone ever taken a Directed Studies course? I'm a long way from being able to take one (45 credits for ASC 401) but I'm just figuring our my options.

Thanks =]

    In chemistry, CHEM 482 is a directed studies course. You get together with a professor you might like to do a detailed study of some aspect of chemistry (for example, actinide chemistry) and over the course of a semester you might write research papers or do other similar demonstrations of your knowledge (i.e. presentations). It can be fun, but it's also challenging at times. :)

    Something similar probably exists in BISC.

    Are you considering that Humanities Directed Studies course? While I haven't even consider that before, but I do know someone who just finished her degree and have taken the Humanities Directed Studies course. She said that she will have to find a Prof that deals with the subject you want to "directed studies" on and will babysit her and guide her along.

    Either Humanities or Asia-Canada studies... It'll depend if I'll find a good prof.
    It seems interesting though, directed studies...

    Good luck on finding a topic that you can spend your whole course working on as well.
