Question for International Students

edited December 2008 in General
Hey guys, I was just wondering if one of you guys can help out with my cousins student visa application. She is applying for admission to Douglas college, but she is not sure about her IELTS score. Will the embassy in India (where she is coming from) check her English score, or is it only the college that requires this? Do you guys know what the minimum is? Thanks for any guidance

    I remember that Douglas and Langara college requires TOEFL or IELTS for admission, i think it is 6.5 for IELTS? If she doesn't want to spend money on taking the test, she can go to Columbia College in downtown (in the BCIT's building) to take the English Placement test when she comes to Vancouver, it is a private college and the tuition fee is just the same for international students

    I just go check the requirement in the Douglas website, here u go

    English Proficiency:

    One of the following;

    * TOEFL - Minimum score 83 IBT
    * IELTS - Minimum overall band test score 6.5
    * International Baccalaureate (IB) English Language A (Higher level) - Minimum grade of 6 or C
    * BC High School Communications 12 - Minimum B
    * BC High School English 12 - Minimum C
    * LPI - Minimum score 4
    * Successful completion of EASL 0360 or 0460 course at Douglas College
