Barack Obama is the next President of the United States of America!

This is verified by CNN

ABC News

and, if it means anything, FOX News

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/11/04/wrap-polls-start-close-frenied-day-voting/

I am quite happy with the result of this election. For starter, we finally have an African American President after centuries of prejudice and discrimination. Second, Obama inspired hope and optimism in a time of hardship and pessimism and he will continue to do so as President of the United States. Congratulation to Senator Obama on his victory and wish him luck in the next four years. And a round of applause to John McCain for his Presidential Campaign.

Once again, Barack Obama is the next President of the United States.

It seems that he is symbolized as going towards the idea "all are equal". I think it still takes a long time to eliminate the racism, it is a good sign tho

props to him though he should have ended his speech with "gg" haha

that was a close race...47,572,522 voted for McCain, and 51,434,761 for Obama
Now the biggest obstacle for Obama is to stay alive, lol. Anyone who brings change in too quickly always gets assassinated.

Uh, no. Popular vote doesn't count, Gore had the most popular vote in 2000 but still lost. This wasn't a close race at all, Obama won by a landslide.

Dumb? No. Belief in a different set of ideology isn't stupidity, it's just a belief in a different set of ideology.

If the voters voted McCain because of what was fed to them (a MILF VP, BO is a terrorist/muslim, I would not vote for a black man, etc), then yes, stupidity indeed.

The victory of Barack Obama opened a lot of new doors in American politic. For example, if Obama has a good presidency and the idiots who won't vote for him because he is black died out or exterminated, people of colour, not just Black, running for Presidency will be very common.

As well as people of colour, I want to see non-Christians and atheists to run AND win within my life time.

Finally, I really hope that foreign born American citizens can run for the President of the United States.

At the current rate of development for Americans, that will happen one day. It seems the anti-intellectual movement has died somewhat, and hopefully will continue to die, for the betterment of humanity..

Not sure if anyone has any interest in amending section 1 of article II in the US Constitution. They were thinking about doing it for Ahnold, but god forbid, that man is an imbecile.

FYI, there's a bunch of "Impeach Obama" group on FB, what a bunch of kook. The guy isn't even sworn in yet. Read some of the discussions, the ignorance and lack of coherent argument (not to mention logic) is astoundingly appalling.

Who said anything about the Governator? There are a lot more talented foreign born citizens out there.
