Certificates

edited November 2008 in General
Can anyone give me some info on certificates?
Do you have to go consult the advisor before getting it or starting it?

Some have requirements, like a CGPA of 2.00, so if I get a D in a course, I'm still good for it as long as I have a C average for everything else, right?

I know that the courses used for a certificate can't be used for another certificate, but it can be used for your major, minor, extended minor, etc., right? They can count for your electives as well as your required courses for a major, extended minor, etc.?

Thanks!

CGPA = Culmulative Grade Point Average. Average >= 2.00 is good.

    Don't know about the rest.

You always need to consult the advisor with EVERYTHING. They are the one who will be clicking the computer and adding you to the list.

Well, if that D course is a part of your certificate program, that course will not be counted toward your program.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes.
    Thanks!
You are welcome. SFU should pay me to do this.

Jaydub, this is the first time I ever use a Joker pic or a Joker reference. However, I do admit that I found using a few bullets and few drums of gasoline to create mass chaos very appealing.
