Waitlist

Hi all,

I have a question regarding the waitlist when you add courses. A few semesters ago, I saw that for a course, there are still available seats; however, people chose to go on the waitlist instead. Does anyone of you have any idea why people will do that? Thanks!

    Not too sure, maybe people are somehow using some weird strategy to hold courses or something (I think on top of the maximum allowed 18 credits you can have like 12 waitlist credits or something?)

    those seats are reserved for people who require the course as part of their (declared) major

    sometimes its b/c the particular tutorial or lab they want into is full so they waitlist on that one instead of enrolling into one of the open ones.

    I'm currently enrolled in 3 courses and on the waitlist for two others. When I try to waitlist more the system tells me that:

    "You are unable to add this class at this time. The maximum term wait list unit limit would be exceeded with this change.".

    'the hell?!

    *Sigh* You can only waitlist for 8 credits, or in another word, two classes...

    hmm...it's still kind of weird because there is an example right now for BUS 420. There is still 1 available seat, but 24 people are waitlisting for that course...

    Like Jimmy said, they're reserved for Business students.
