SFU ip system

edited November 2008 in General
Does the ip change every time you switch computers, is it random, or is it a static ip that goes to the webpage no matter what computer you are using?

Just curious since I've been banned from one of my favorite sites lol

Well, you get a new internal ip every time you connect to SFUNET, but that won't matter to external websites since they'll only see the ip of your gateway.

There may be more than one SFU gateway. I suspect that there's at least one for the wireless networks and at least one for the labs, maybe more. The worst case would be that they all go through one bottleneck. If so, nice job on getting everyone at SFU banned from whatever site you're talking about.
