Obama did a great job highlighting the issues that is facing America today, nevermind fixing them. I respect and will vote for anyone who acknowledge/ diagnose a problem.

    Obama/ (with disgust) Biden 08

I can't, but I can always give my apolitical aunt in the States a call and ask her to vote for Obama.

God damn, he is charismatic. His economic ideas are flawed, and the Iraq timeline is insane, but he's SO much more charismatic than McCain. If I were American, it would be a tossup between him and not voting. Actually, I would throw away my vote on the Libertarian Bob Barr, if I could.

^Anything is better than "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran" and "100 Years in Iraq." Sometimes, I just wish that it was McCain vs. Gore in 2000. Let the old man have his fun, get defeated, and retire with honor.

I care about the american elections as I do about the Russian, Yugoslavian, Lesotho and Christmas Island elections. Aka, I don't because it is not my country.

Jaydub, rather we like it or not, what happens in America affect almost every single person on earth. For example, the recent fiancial crisis has shown that what happens in America affect will have a rippling affect across the globe.

Weather you like it or not, the actions of every country affect everyone else in this world so why should I specifically care about one country?

But the Americans have the most effect because of...

    1.) Our proximity with them
    2.) Our greatest trading parter
3.) The size and magnitude of the American economy

I'm actually very scared about the future of America.

Because for the first time in eight years, they will have an INTELLIGENT man as the leader of their country....

    HOW WILL THEY EVER ADJUST?

I am more concerned about vote being rigged tomorrow. I browsed Yahoo Answer and I found that a guy is actually asking rather he can vote or not if he has a parking ticket.

I mean seriously, back on October 14 during our Federal Election, I didn't even give rather I can vote or not a second thought. I registered a week ago, so they better give me a ballot. Also, the electoral college system just reminds me of the nightmare of the 2000 election. Had Al Gore won, the world would surely be a better place. (Ok, maybe President Gore won't have time to make An Inconvenient Truth...)

Another thing that concerns me is that the American electoral system is TOO complicated. That electoral voting machine can easily be tampered and is a waste of time. Can't they just use a pen and paper?

Another thing that worries me is that there maybe a re-run of the 2000 election, with McCain may win the electoral votes while Obama winning the popular vote.

This election pretty much determines the fate of the world. Rather we will continue to have an America that ignore the global opinion and continue to take the unilateral foreign policy or an America that will listen to the world. Worst, I fear a war with Iran.

I am so stressed out right now, and I am not even American.

If Obama wins tomorrow, the Americans will have to embrace change rather they like it or not.

Everyone cant be so sure that obama has it in the bag right now... the majority of america is stupid and are brainwashed by their patriotism and love for the country.. theres actually a poll done in texas that showed 1 in 4 people thought Obama was a muslim (not sure if its true but come on..it is texas), which will definitely impact how people vote.
I think its going to be a pretty tight race and the fact that so many voting machines are not calibrated and have problems isnt gonna help Obama at all.

    ^Yeah, that's what worries me.

*Sigh* Where is the Black Panthers when you need them?

American's don't even vote for their president. They vote for people who vote for the president.

I think the electoral college system can trace its origin to the founding of the US. Back then, there are two groups: one wanting the congress to select the President while other wanting the people to elect the President. Therefore, they reached a compromise, the people would vote their elector and these elector would in turn vote for the candidate they pledged themselves to vote for. In theory, the elector is suppose to vote in according to the people's wish. However, there isn't any law or rule that prohibit them from doing so otherwise.

Oh, I have also learned why the Americans always vote on Tuesday. Traditionally, people would go to church on Sunday, take their chuckwagon or horses or whatever and travel to the voting place on Monday (back then, traveling takes a LONG time), and vote on Tuesday.

Or, as my former Poli-Sci Pro calls it, a "sober second thought." Seriously though, the elector is supposed to vote for the nominee he pledged to vote.
