Definitely must be a joke. Only something a business student / code monkey would say. 370 sounds just as bad, information systems, no thanks, I'd rather study AI.
    nope not a joke
and no i'm not a business student nor a code money (very nice how u jump to stereotypes, though i dono why u said business student... totally unrelated)

as for 370 the class aint what u think, its mostly 275 without any programming but its far better since the prof teaches from exp and real world shit, skips over any material that irrelevant and u wont ever use in real world, very practical class

both classes focus more on teaching practical shit and basically how to become a system analyst

as for AI i could honestly not think of a more boring class to take... maybe its cuz i took it with Bob(Robert) Hadley

It's quite simple. In order to combat global warming, SFU has discontinued the "summer semester". Studies have shown that summer is the hottest time of the year in this region. SFU is doing its part to reduce its levels of summer and as a result, summer semesters after 2009 will be replaced with winter semesters. Continuing with this trend, spring semesters will also be phased out starting in 2010.

Actually, doing co-op delays your registration day by quite a bit. Because I did 3 co-op terms, my registration day is quite late now

I have a list of some possible combination of courses I am going to take.

    CMPT 307, 354, 376, 384, 411, 431, 471
    MATH 380
    ENGL 101, 104
    HIST 225
    CRIM 300, 315, 317, 343, 356, 402, 413, 433.

    Only five of those though.

Does someone know what a seminar is? Versus a lecture or tutorial?

Seminar is basically 1 single tutorial that is your class for the semester. The prof is the prof and the TA and does everything from lecturing, leading discussions and marking.I think its about 25 people max for the course?

    cmpt 354 = ezy
cmpt 471 with Gu = ezy (since he repeats 371 in LESS details!)

and math 380? is that history of math? so like a writing course?

It is an extremely agonizing and longer version of a tutorial. Some professor would devote one hour to lecture and the rest toward discussions while other would lecture and discuss at the same time.

and I got a problem for that
    Can I take 300-level courses if I haven't declared a major/minor yet?
coz my fd told me that I could take 3xx level psyc if I am not a major/minor student....and I havent declared that coz my GPA waas too low last sem and I dont have 60 credits yet, but I got all the prerequisites already
  • edited October 2008
I think you can declare your major/minor anytime. I took 300 level courses when I haven't declared mine yet.
