In all seriousness I don't think Dion would whimper like a puppy, all the commercials have led us to believe this though.
I don't think it helps that hes a scrawny guy with a french accent (for some reason I think this is an overriding factor in his (dis)likability, as compared to Harper who speaks clearly in english with a fake smile on his face.
I think Harper was Bush's bitch during his whole term....i dont see y u guys think Dion is a pussy...plus the liberal platform looks much better than the conservative one right now...ppl are just shying away cuz of the nationwide carbon tax
Dion hasn't shown a hint of plausible leadership. The Liberals doesn't have any viable leaders to step up the plate, Dion takes the stand because he's the best they got.
Harper is an educated economist, the stuff he learned at the time is not very applicable to now, after all, look at the US, the same crap taught there plus selfishness led to this. And he has his priorities messed up, what we need as country is better economic ties with the world instead of one nation down south: it's the equivalent of betting all your chips on one gamble, when you lose, you lose big. More trade with Europe and Asia is what will strengthen the economic power of Canada, not more trade with US.
Leadership requires a sensible person with realistic vision, reasoning, and adequate experience, so far, the two top nations in North America doesn't have anybody remotely qualified to lead.
Am I the only one here who is an ENTHUASTIC supporter of Prime Minister Harper and the Conservative Party? Even if you are not as enthusiastic as me, you should still go out and vote.
1.) Strengthened the Canadian Armed Forces Special Warfare Capability by creating two new Special Operation Units.
CSOR and whom?
Anyways for all the good he has done for the military makes me impressed by him. You would be surprised on how much we did with the so little we got from the grits.
^ditto.. (whoops.. jaydub beat me to it  was referring to insatiable's comment)
but my parents are dishing out that "responsible citizen" talk on me.. i think they just want to get an extra vote on Harper..=.=" which i will vote for if my parents continue to be anal about it..
honestly.. there is not one leader i could wholesomely vote for and be content about it... we're just lacking choices...to me it's like trying to pick a not so rotten apple in a basket of rotten apples.. which is why i've been indifferent to elections in the first place..
on a side note: what about NDP? i LOL'ed when Layton said the fight is between him and Dion..
Harper is Bush's bitch and the Conservative party will push some nasty shit down our throats if they get in power. Dion is sorta alienating because of his accent, but he's far better than Harper by any measure. With that said, the liberal party isn't exactly the poster child for good, reasonable policy either, and they may well push some of the same crap the tories will.
That leaves the NDP and the Bloc. The Bloc could go fuck themselves because they're in favour of much of the bullshit the Tories are spewing. The NDP has a fairly good stand on most issues, but I don't recon they'll do that great of a job as government. They're really good as opposition though.
all in all, hope for a liberal minority government with a significant NDP presence and barely any Bloc. Failing that, just any minority government at all with a significant NDP presence will do.
^lol.. what did they ever do to you? murder your grand daddy? =P
omg hes really sensitive about that
But... NDP shouldn't even be considered because of the last time they were in power, and conservatives with a majority gov't will mean more of an American influence than ever before.

political fervor is frightening, its one thing to support someone, but to be enthusiastic seems like an appeal to emotion, which is unreasonable
i basically quoted in full, by memory without paraphrasing, maybe a few words are of if that at all
if you're interested in it, search engine it, i was more intrigued that he would use that as a reason, in comparing canadian to american politics and the pervasiveness of theocracy south of the border
last time i heard someone tell them god told them to do something they were on a street corner in rags
edit: i just went to yahoo.com and typed in "god told george bush to invade iraq"; IVT if you want to see some sources see the dozens of websites
i've heard this from other people, but i've never read the quote myself. care to post it?
Bush is a schmuck. There was an article in The Economist a while ago about Bush being too religious (this shouldn't come as a surprise, even to the most ardent Christian). The leaders of practically every civilized nation tend more or less to eschew religion, which I believe is right. However, I can't dismiss a candidate on religion alone, and why should I? There are plenty of other reasons for doing so
i gave bush a fair chance, i wasnt hopping aboard the i hate bush bandwagon, or the death to america bandwagon
i would have had more respect for him if his reasons for invading iraq were not :
'I'm driven with a mission from God'.
"God would tell me, 'George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan'. And I did, and then God would tell me, 'George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq . . .' And I did.
"And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, 'Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East'.

"I'm surely not going to justify war based upon God. Understand that. Nevertheless, in my case, I pray that I will be as good a messenger of His will as possible. And then of course, I pray for forgiveness."
