They freakin jack up the price again for parking passes this year. It's only been a year and it increases again? WTF? The lady also told me it's gonna go up ~8% every year from now on...hopefully i'll be done by next year so i don't get ripped no more....so gay

Parking rates are not that bad. When you start working, your monthly parking rates will be way hire even though you'll be more likely to make more money. For example, it's almost 100 dollar per month to park my car on West Broadway.

Well they increase it every year I think. Although the parking situatin at SFU is f*cked up, I don't mind the prices for B-Lot too much....that is IF you can get your hands on a pass. Otherwise you're screwd into paying 11$ per day thats WAYYY too high.

Guys, there are always ways around for cheaper parking spots.

At the Production station, for example. Just outside the bus loop there, a little ways up the hill, if you park anywhere there, it's free all day. Just catch the 145 going up the mountain every 10 minutes or so.

On Duthie, coming up from Hastings, is also free. If you come between 9AM and 4PM, you may have to circle around once or twice to find a spot, but it's usually good all day. You can catch the 135 or 144 up the mountain every 5 minutes or so.

If you wanna stay late, but also want the freedom to go out for grubs later during the night, move your car to Convo around 7 and pay the flat rate of $2.25 for the night. Where you choose to park before 7 is up to you.

The last resort for parking, usually for third and fourth year students, is to just goto WMX and study at school until the gate opens at night (12:45 on weekdays and 11:45 on weekends). We've all got things to do, unless you're getting a certificate in General Studies (is that even possible?), so might as well force yourself to stay and study while you're car stays nice and warm.

Word to the wise: if you have accumulated more than two parking tickets on campus, pay them off as soon as possible. I know we're not all rich and can shell out $30 per one, but having unpaid tickets on your license record can get you a boot at any time, any where...especially at Convo.

Man you guys are crying over nothing, at UBC the cheapest parking costs 300$ per semester. Ya they keep increasing the cost of a BLOT pass but its still worth it considering how much they charge if you don't have one THATs what I have a real problem with....not really though becuase I live on rez but STILL
