Don't care about cars in general, or what one a guy drives.

For me cars are utilitarian, they get you from point A to B.

That said, I like sleek vehicles, and this one is stumpy.

These days y'all should be a lil more worried about the fuel mileage than in impressing girls, 'cuz it won't look so cool when you spend more in gas than you do on her.

I don't like it. Looks weird..

Cars need to be small to fit everywhere and economic, otherwise you will waste money.

If the question is about a guy driving it, I couldn't care less. Besides "gold diggers" all the normal girls would rather have a sweet, funny, honest guy, than an idiot with a nice car.

blackhat you gonna buy a mini?
  • edited September 2008
I don't really care for cars that much unless they look good.

The Mini Cooper just looks a bit...odd. The top looks off.
  • edited September 2008
it's cute.. i can see how some girls look good with it..
just not my type of car..
  • edited September 2008
I would love a Mini Cooper! Not really the kind of car I'd want my guy to drive though. But then again he doesn't even have a car now, so any car would do lol.

Not unless everything goes very right in the next couple of days.

Regardless, obviously Minis are not too fly with the gals. *sigh*

Just as a control question, what do you girls think of one of these:

much better, makes me think a tall guy will drive it, still looks like just a generic car to me though, but much better looking than the mini
  • edited September 2008
not a fan of bimmers.. but yeah it suits you much better than the mini.. =)

    Pretty car. It's shiny.

That's only a 3-Series which can probably get smoked by a comparably priced, but cheaper, Infiniti :zip:

The interiors for the Minis are ugly. Very Fisher-Price-esque.

depends... low end 328i is around 42k...
    the 328i is around 230hp straight 6

g35 is about 35k and runs at approx 300hp v6

mileage and maintenance better to get the infiniti, unless your plan is to just lease for 4 years the return the car at the end of the lease. first 4 years of maintenance is covered by bmw but after that your pretty screwed. full break swap costs around 2500 bux as apposed to something japanese like lexus or infiniti would probably run you about 500.

can take that extra 2k and spend it on a nice girl :)

totally up to you dude. my pov on minis is that, its a chick car (not being sexist just that girls look alot better in them then guys do). maybe you can pick up a lexus is250 which is around 32,000 starting. has a v6 2.5L and 200hp. relatively low displacement for a car in its class. wont break ur bank too too much, and maintenance is relatively low as it is mostly toyota parts.

secondly, are you buying a car to impress girls? or for daily commute? or u just feel the need for speed? :P

also, how long have you been driving for? insurance on a two door is alot more then a 4 door i believe. you plan on driving this car for more then 4 years? would you prefer to own something or borrow something?

you paying cash or finance or lease? do you like to go road tripping? do vacations consist of just you and a girl or do you like to take friends along too?

do you plan on driving manual or automatic? how good are you with rear wheel drive cars in the snow?

what kind of area do you live in? i.e. hills or flatland?
  • edited September 2008
also forgot to add, do you snowboard or do any other outdoors kinda thing?

is music a big thing to you?

do you know how to change the tires on a car (seriously asking cause some guys i know dont)? i ask this because japanese cars tend to come with regular tires as apposed to bmw which has run flat tires.

have you considered other cars in the german class? mercedes benz c230? how bout a audi a4? maybe a porsche boxter?

also, are you looking for highend cars? something that turns heads? or looking for something thats cost effective yet still fun to drive?

also, im sure your aware that the cars you listed so far (mini and a 3 series coupe) run on higher octane gas. do you have the budget to keep it filled on 91+ octanes regularly?

holy mama hiking.. you're bombarding this thread.. @_@ too many questions!!

    ^^ holy shit.

I'm looking at cars suitable for zipping around the city that are in the same class as the Mini.

The picture of 3 coupé that I posted was a control question.

I also looked at the 2007 VW Rabbit:

    Citroen C4 FTW!

Srsly, any car that has a commercial where the car transforms and dances on a Vancouver rooftop is made of epic win.
