I think you can get out of the rec fee if you are not taking any classes on campus.

I think you can get out of the u-pass in some circumstances, they list them on the sfu.ca website.

I think the student activity and or services fee can be refunded through the individual organizations receiving the breakdown of those moneys.

I ****think**** i heard stories of people in previous years getting refunds from places like CFSJ and SFSS and SFPRIG etc, if you went to them and said you didn't believe in what they were doing. Each one would cut you a cheque for 4-9 dollars...whatever they got...I heard stories of this years ago, I don't know if this is true now or was true then.

How about the women center? Do they get funding and can I go in and say I don't believe in what they're doing? :P

One of my prolife Christian friend would've been thrilled to get her money back from the women center of all places

I know you can get your money back directly from SFPIRG. According to the breakdown I think it was like $4...

Like RandomUser said you have to go to the individual places that offer student services to get your cash back.

BTW, The Women's Centre is funded by Simon Fraser Student Society (as is Out on Campus, and the Copy Centre).

You also have to give them a reason why you want your money back, which can be quite awkward trying to explain to them, cause I'm sure they'll try to explain to you why they need the money...

It just looks really petty on you asking for 5 bucks here and there...I mean if you are that broke that you need the money by all means, but some of these contribute to what little campus life we do have.

for the $40 distance ed materials, you should get a $30 refund (they charge a $10 administrative fee) but if you return the materials they will give you that $10.

the info is on the distance ed website under Course Materials Returns and Refunds
