Food at SFU

edited September 2008 in General
What are some good food places at SFU?

I've only ever eaten at the Maggie Benson Centre when I went up there a couple of times...

I heard from a coworker that SFU raised food prices and since you're stranded on a mountain you have no other choice but to suck it up

And I've noticed that some places aren't open all the time.... understandable, but is there some sort of schedule?? Where will I go during my breaks to satisfy my hunger?!

Excluding the food places at MBC:
Renaissance is pretty good if you're looking for snacks, it's open later too I think...
    Donair Town
Himalayan Peak for their all-you-can-eat lunch
    Pizza Point for cheap eats
Ichibankan Express is all right too

What I've learned is to STAY AWAY from Chartwells (Mackenzie, Ravens, Simon Cs)... their food is over-priced and usually pretty crappy. And they close really early... my breaks are usually around 4 and they are always closed ! (or maybe it's just for the summer?)

    Bring food with you.

Also, never use the vending machines, ever. There is a corner store in MBC that sells everything in vending machines way cheaper.

I occasionally go to the pizza place at the cornerstone as well as its cheap.

I see theres a grocery store being constructed up there which will probably have some decent stuff but thatll be a long time off.

Most of the time i leave the mountain im starving, either that or ive paid way too much for unhealthy food.

If price doesnt matter theres a triple o-s in AQ, and id say the food places in MBC are decent, the mr sub, and the flaming wok or whatever it is

I only buy food up at SFU if I have too. Way too overpriced and it's honestly not even that good. Just pack your own lunch. There are microwaves around campus. Or find a friend that lives on Rez and mooch off of them.

Mediterranean Panini at Nature's Deli is pretty good. 2 pieces for $6.95 and you get a little bit of salad with it.

Happened over the summer semester when rice shot up in price. That sushi is shit too.

I pack food, I will not accept the mediocrity of the food on the campus and I'm voting with my wallet, I'm not paying for them and I hope they starve to bankruptcy, especially Chartwells.

Mr Subs and White Spot gets a passing grade. They are decent.

Yeah, SFPING! How can I forget that place!? I almost thought about climbing up to my History and/or Humanities Common Room for the microwave!
