Speaking of sunglasses

edited August 2008 in General
Anyone know how to tell apart the authentics from the knockoffs? The price for oakleys on eBay is a fair bit cheaper than their website but I have zero experience when it comes to this so I'm hoping someone have some input.

For Oakleys, you just have to know your stuff. Find someone who's well versed in Oakley eyewears.

On eBay, avoid buying from buyers located near Mexican borders or in Malaysia/Thailand, tons of knockoffs there (LA doesn't count, Oakley headquarter is in LA).

Knockoff Raybans are a little more difficult to spot, they change their models so often it's hard to tell whether they're genuine or not.

For sunglasses in general, the diminishing return kicks in around $100 in full force. Spending anymore than that doesn't give you any satisfaction besides bling. Arnette, Smith, Bolle, etc makes decent shades under $100.
