Opinions on Expensive Shoes?
Whats anyones opinion or experience. Is it worth it to buy a 300, 400 or 500 dollar pair of shoes, if you like the way they look and cant find a half price alternative generic brand?
Comments
I consider anything over $70 to be too expensive.. but then, I'm a guy.
I bought those because I couldn't find a generic alternative, I simply like the way they looked. I don't regret it and I find that it was well worth it.
I think if you like a really expensive pair of shoes and you know that you wont like anything else in the generic variety, then yeah.. go for it. Just make sure you dont regret it? lol
What are you planning on buying?
But I can usually find great shoes for a decent price so it's not a huge issue.

of course id be buying in store, im not going to overpay for something counterfeit or i cant get a refund on if it breaks, i was looking on south granville and holt renfrew today and those two i liked
ps: second pair is my pick.. =P
Prada lady, eh?
i just figure im getting closer to being an adult so why not, but at the same time im thinking of all the other stuff i can buy with the same amount of money
I just got a pair of mid-heel leather pumps from Le Chateau for work (who knew?) that are actually super comfortable and obviously affordable.

It's on the second outfit from the left.
Or go to B2/Browns for cute shoes that's $200 cheaper. Winners sometimes has some Stuart Weitzman pumps and Juicy loafers.

I buy a bunch of stuff from that store. I got a pair of boots that were SUPPOSED TO BE $500 for $80.
And I understand the concern you'd have for buying something you've never seen before--this store has a good reputation... and I've always liked what I got from there. I've received the most praises for items from here.
Hmm. Remember that when you buy IN STORE or from a NAME BRAND, you are paying over 75% just for the brand or for the franchise for being the promoter or the middleman. Cutsey Girl basically cuts out the middleman and sells you items at close to no profit. Me no like brand names--be your own promoter, don't let brands speak for you. :teeth:
Note: It also helps that Cutesy Girl has shoes from SIZE 5!!!! Most stores don't give me the same amount or quality of products at size 5.
edit: Scratch that, even if I had an infinite supply of money, I would not spend that much
im sure thats more than the norm for a guy
most girl shoes are rather cheap imo, but expensive high end designer ones.. hmm if u can afford it, more power to ya
guys will spent their money on cars/computers/electronics/alcohol? lol so its all relative
1) They must be comfortable
2) They must fit perfectly
3) They must be pretty
If they don't meet these requirements, I won't buy them.
It doesn't matter if they're $50 or $500, same standards.
This is why I rarely buy shoes online (once).
If they're not comfortable, they're not worth it.
Not worth a few slabs of leather.
I can justify $500 for an iPod (to an extent), or some high-tech cellphone or a PS3 or 360 but can't say the same for a pair of shoes. You know how many engineers work together for years just to develop these things? All that hard work, time and money these guys spent on education? I can appreciate the work they put into these complex devices.
A purse or a pair of shoes? Some hobo off the street can draw something, slap a name brand on it and charge you $1000 for it. Can't really justify some no talent "fashion designer" hack to draw up a few designs and charge you $1000s for it. These things on serve you one function, something to put on your feet or carry. Electronics can serve many functions even if they're primarily built for one. $1000 purses and "Fashion Designers" are scams.
Which will last you what, 2-4 years until it becomes obsolete?
Shoes can last the same amount of time, and if you go out more often than you sit home playing video games you can get the same use out of shoes.
I personally would not pay anything like 1000 dollars for a purse, but shoes are different.
