Trying to get into a course...

hmm
edited August 2008 in General
I'm currently on the waitlist for CMPT 120..

CLASS AVAILABILITY
Wait List Total : 25
Available Seats : 28

Since there are more available seats than wait list.. will I get the spot by tomorrow? Or can non-waitlisted people add this course and get the spot right away?

^ um yes. You should be able to enroll directly.

If you can't get in, try taking 126 or getting special permission to take 125. Those three courses are all very similar.

    Argh.. now it's

    Waitlist total: 27
    Available seats: 21

So if I drop my waitlisted course, and try adding it again.. would I get the spot right away?
I want to try but I don't want to lose my spot in the waitlist!
Or.. would I get into the course eventually?

^ No. Available seats must be higher than wait list total in order for you to directly enroll. As for now, just wait.

    Ah... I see. Thanks.

if there are open seats and a waitlist, it usually means that while the lecture is open, the particular lab/tutorial you want to get into is full and you are on the waitlist to get into that particualr combination. if you find a lab that is open you should be able to directly enroll.

If Available Seats => 1, ignore waitlist.
